Thermas sauna in Barcelona

Judging by articles posted here and also the escort reviews section this is a place that some people love and some people hate. I normally seek out the 'house of boys' when in Barcelona (of which there is a choice of at least four), but during my recent visit curiosity found me visiting the Thermas sauna for what was in fact my first ever visit to a sauna. I have to say that I was not impressed. I was expecting some sort of minor palace, but what I found was a rather seedy place, arranged on about four floors of small rooms connected by badly lit staircases. As soon as I arrived and emerged from the locker room I was accosted by a youth who had me pinned to the bannister rail and had his tongue half way down my throat (while at the same time quoting his rate for a cabin) before I managed to push him off me (no is a word that they don't seem to understand here!) After that I hung out in the bar for a while before selecting a guy from Colombia to go to a cabin with. It seems that every guy you talk to (and yes there are some gorgeous rent guys there and they seem to outnumber the other customers by about ten to one) claims when asked to be 'complet' (versatile) He quoted 50 euros but didn't seem interested in specifying any particular time, I had the impression that the session ends when somebody comes. We went into a 'cabin' which was not much bigger than I imagine a coffin to be, and after a while when I decided to fuck him, surprise! it turns out that I have the biggest dick in the world and it couldn't possibly go in there! In fact his arse was so tight I doubt if someone with a dick the size of a pencil could have got very far. Just like a previous reviewer, I thought it was about the most mediocre and pointless sex I have ever paid for, and just to round things off he demanded 100 euros when we had finished. A quick complaint to the management soon sorted that out, and I certainly won't be going there again. The previous reviewer I quoted also said he thought most of the guys are probably straight and I would definately go along with that. Two thoughts to finish with: 1) Why is it that in these circumstances all the best looking guys are either straight or active only? 2) Although at first it seems cheaper than the 'boys clubs' I mentioned earlier, by the time you've paid to get in (11 euros) and bought a few drinks (maybe another 11 euros) you are far better off going to somewhere like the excellent boy's club 'American Gigalo' where you pay 80 euros for an hour with a guy in a massive double bedroom with a shower and everything clean and pleasant. Also the boys who work here wouldn't be kept on by the management if they weren't any good.

Though I cannot disagree with anything you said--it's all accurate, I love Thermas myself. I have found gorgeous guys who will bottom... I speak no Spanish but I point my finger at them and say 'passivo?' If they go yes, there's no excuse. Other guys I have fun with without getting into anal. With so many guys available, I can't be expected to fuck each and every one... I'm only human.

 

The really pushy guys are a problem. I have learned to tell them NO quickly and firmly so they won't bother me all night and I can focus on the dreamboats. Also, the cabins are not a good idea... get a VIP room and you'll be much more comfortable if you ever change your mind and visit again.

You mentioned about 4 "house of boys". Can you pinpoint where they would be located and what I can expect to find there? Im a rookie at going to places like these, and my Spanish is mimimal, so anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

If you look back to July 1st in this section, a thread titled "Barcelona" you will find all the details for 'American Gigalo' and 'American Boys' which are definately the best of the four. American Boys, and the other two which I don't recommend, Neron and Korpus advertise widely in Spartacus guide and also all the free maps and guides you find when you get there, but American Gigalos seems to be something of a secret and I only found it on some obscure internet listing.

I had a very unsatisfactory experience at American Boys when I visited a few years ago. They wanted money up front, and would not let me choose my own boy. As a matter of fact, they would not even let me see the boy before I paid my money. Needless to say, I walked.

I think they must have new management now, then, because since I've been going there they sit you in a comfy little room and the boys all come in individually and introduce themselves, normally between five and ten of them. On the odd occasion when I have said none of them were quite for me and can I come back tomorrow to try again there has been no problem with that either.

By the way, for the person who was worried about language the running of American boys seems to be shared about 50-50 (roughly alternate days) between an older guy and a younger guy of about 30. The younger guy speaks quite good English.
