mike carey 18,879 Posted September 26, 2021 I've declined, as I don't think it will be possible. However, if the Great Reopening happens earlier than expected I'll reconsider. At this stage, available air fares are still 'unrealistic', although that would change if travel restrictions from here ease. Have a great time, guys! nate_sf 1 Link to comment
+ purplekow 14,094 Posted October 3, 2021 Hope to attend. Definite maybe for me but strongly leaning to come there. May invite a guest daretobare and nate_sf 2 Link to comment
+ Pensant 8,996 Posted October 4, 2021 If I’m up in the PNW in January, probably not; although, there are direct flights from SEA. Would really like to go, though. Any Kimpton Hotels in the DuPont area folks might recommend? Link to comment

As @Derrick mentions there is The George within a block of MAL. I've stayed there and liked it. I'm booked there for this trip. + Pensant 1 Link to comment
+ purplekow 14,094 Posted October 5, 2021 Rouge is a Klimpton and there are several others in the Dupont Circle area + Pensant 1 Link to comment

I stayed at one on the 2100 block of P Street (a couple of blocks from Du Pont Circle) that was quite reasonable, but it looks like it's the Royal Sonesta now. A couple of weeks later I stayed at another IHG property (Holiday Inn at 1500-ish RI Avenue), also reasonable. Edited to add: I booked the then Kimpton place through Qantas Hotels which meant I earned miles for it but it also meant the stay didn't count towards IHG rewards. buckguy 291 Posted October 28, 2021 The DC Kimptons were sold and most have other affiliations now. The Rouge is now the Banneker, but still a Kimpton. It had a major renovation. Link to comment
+ keroscenefire 2,905 Posted November 27, 2021 I think I'm going to this now! Getting my booster tomorrow and got a nice deal on a hotel through a Black Friday sale. I'm staying over the L'Enfant, so just a mile or so away from festivities. Looking forward to seeing you all. mike carey and marylander1940 2 Link to comment

The Palomar and the Madera (two of my favorites) are, alas, no longer in the IHG/Kimpton family. Link to comment

nate_sf 1,566 Posted December 12, 2021 I switched my reservation to the Yotel Hotel, located across the street from the Hyatt. It was sold out previously, but they added another block of rooms. I'd stayed there before when it was under different management, but not since it's been a Yotel. marylander1940 1 Link to comment
+ sam.fitzpatrick 2,716 Posted December 28, 2021 While I have enjoyed attending this event several times in the past, I am unable to make it this year. I will miss seeing the regulars and meeting new attendees. Have fun, y’all. Link to comment
