I saw him last night. Very friendly and passionate. 

Resurrecting this topic because I wanted to add my own word of caution based on recent experiences. I recently disclosed to a friend that I occasionally engaged in this hobby. Friend was mostly cool with it but shared this with another friend, who shared with another. 🙄
Long story short: these three friends have run the gamut from (1) “whatever” to (2) nonjudgmental “but what about trafficking and exploitation?” concerns to (3) outright hysteria based on all kinds of assumptions, misconceptions, and stigma associated with this.
Lesson learned: because of our culture’s complicated and clouded views of sex and sexuality generally, I wish I had kept this all to myself.

Although I realize it is not an option for everyone, a scenario such as this is why I insist upon a seated lunch interview before a first-time "hire". 

I am sorry this happened to you. You are going to have to report the theft to the police. It is necessary if you want to file a claim with your insurance company. You don't have to go into your "hiring" details, but will have to provide details that can help the police track him down. Like phone number and pictures. Do call your bank/credit card companies and notify them so they can check your accounts for unauthorized transactions and replace your cards.  If your computers are set up to "remote wipe" like mine are, initiate the wipe.  When you get new computers, change your login details for your accounts, in case the old credentials are saved in your browser on stolen computers. If he has your keys, you may need to change locks too since your wallet/ID probably has your address on it.  And post a link of the thief here so we know to avoid him.  Alternatively if he's been discussed here in a separate thread, leave a comment in the thread, something like "I met him. I do not recommend."  When I see that, I know something is up.  Good luck buddy!

The rules that are commonly applied here are that prostitution is illegal in most parts of the United States, so to go into detail about sex for money, you are insinuating that this person is a prostitute.
A masseur is selling a massage /An escort is selling his ( her ) time as pleasant company.
Anything more that went on beyond paying for their professional time, is outside of their professional life and should be only discussed in that manner. Not packaged into their profession.
