I don't think the client being in Gaithersburg now, or later, was the stumbling block. The  client talked about Gaithersburg, and when the provider asked about Charlotte, the client was unsettled. Possibly thinking things like 'I said Gaithersburg, but he brings up Charlotte. Is he not paying attention to what I tell him? Is he too high to focus? And now he wants to know exactly where I am in Gaithersburg, before we have even gotten to any other details. I am feeling uneasy.'
I am not saying the client communicated well, or should have been weirded out. I am saying, like  many client/provider texts we hear about, both of them them could have 1) communicated more clearly, and 2) taken a minute to explore what the other meant besides the very first thought that came into their head.

There is a lot of talk on here that a lower rate will mean a lesser experience, the provider will short you on time, he'll be located in a seedy hotel, etc.    I have never found that to be the case at all.   That's exactly what they want you to think.  Some/most of my best hires were actually with guys that are fairly new to the industry and trying to build up their client base or just simply offer their services at a lower price point.  The rate is definitely not a good indicator of quality in my opinion.   

Given the number of providers I have been with that spent much of the appointment looking at the phone, I have a hard time believing they cannot answer in a 3 or 4 hour time period.  

This, absolutely yes. I only ever send one initial inquiry. There's no way to make someone want your business if they don't.

It depends on how far in advance it is.
However, usually, if a provider doesn't answer within 24 hours, they're never going to answer. And I'm not going to keep begging anyone with additional texts.
If I'm doing right-now hiring, I only give them 30 minutes. I've had to tell more than one potential provider that they took too long to get back, so I already hired a replacement. Plenty of fish in the RM sea.

This is one thing that irritates me. 
I wait 24 hours. Past that I am done. 
I can't stand people who have their listing set to active in my city but are actually out of town for 2 weeks. 
Or, they are currently with an extended client, or sick or whatever but they still show their listing. 
 
Why not put an auto reply on your text that says you are unavailable, or change your listing. It is just dumb because people who reach out while you are away just assume you are a flake.

This has happened to me too many times and usually with clients at hotels. They had plenty of time to just rinse off while I was on my way or told them I was looking for parking.
8 times out of 10 they will have that awful ripe, melted Hershey's milk chocolate smell, and 99.9% of them will hit on me and expect some erotic play.

Do not give until you have gotten. It is a rule that derives from the nature of the business. The market is over saturated with "providers"; I am amused that a provider suffers under the delusion that he is the " end all", and, thereby, he can run the market. The reality of the thing being that "escorting" is a buyer's market.  If the provider demands a deposit, walk on as I assure you, there is something bigger and better just around the corner who will be more accommodating.

Depends what you’re using it for and what your partner prefers. For toys, water based is best, especially for silicone items. Some bottoms prefer the feel of one type or another.

Do not use natural oils or oil based lubes with standard condoms or silicone toys. It breaks down latex and silicone. Coconut oil is a great versatile lube equally suited for massage and bb sex, which can make for a more seamless experience when doing both of the two in a session.
Some bottoms prefer water based. The advantages are that it’s the most washable, easy to clean lube type. Also it’s versatile. Works with toys of all kinds and with condoms, and bb. Not great in wet (water) environments for obvious reasons. It’s cheap. It’s readily available.
Fisting lube is special and you pay a premium for it. You need something thicker designed for fisting activities, like Elbow Grease. It’s messy but appropriate. Not always readily available in your sex shop. Reputable gay owned sex shops should have at least one or two brands in stock. Or order it online.
