    A4A usage

I don't see any increase in the number of "pro" ads on A4A. It has been and continues to be primarily a dating and hookup site.
  2. When the wifi-enabled coffee maker draws and filters the tap water, automatically measures the beans, grinds them, and disposes of them when the cycle is done I will buy it.

I'm torn on that subject. On the one hand, it is klunky and I'm surprised it hasn't collapsed under its own weight. On the other hand, it is pretty easy to set up a profile and there is a wide variety of guys on the site. Unlike many of the dating apps there isn't a huge questionnaire nor is there a fee to post a profile. There's something to be said about simplicity.
  4. IMO, many of Greenpeace's tactics amount to ecoterrorism. A few years ago I was at a party where many of the guests where self-described woo-woo Southern Californians who worked as "nutritional consultants" and natural healers. Many of the guests were vegan, including a woman I was talking to about diet and nutrition. I mentioned that I had problems digesting soy and dairy, which rules out many vegan and vegetarian foods, and she said "OMG - don't ever let someone talk you into becoming vegan or vegetarian. The diet will kill you." She then proceeded to call over her massage therapist/nutritional consultant boyfriend and introduced me as "[my name] - he's a chicken and brown rice person." He and I talked for at least a half hour about foods that I could and could not eat. He also admonished me against a vegan or vegetarian diet as well as eating too much red meat.
  5. He's added some pics, including a full-body nude, to his ad. I will not be making a special trip to LA to see him.
  6. I do not support PETA. To me, they rank up there with Greenpeace, another organization I cannot and will not support.
  7. And they say technology has gone too far!
  8. Another ad where the escort is "in your city." I'm calling bullshit on this one.
  9. I think it depends upon how the people working the orders handle them. Starbucks' mobile order system seems to be a problem at some stores while at others (like the one near my office) the team won't keep in-store clients waiting for a drip coffee while they make up the double-whip-mocha-frap-extra cold-no water-lattecino. In the case of the deli, it pisses me off when I have to wait to get my half pound of ham while they assemble an order to feed the entire Phoenix PD. My local Safeway is great about getting folks from another department to help out. Ain't that the truth! When I was a kid one of the local supermarket chains was a family-run business that had a really good deli. Sadly, the deli employees at our local store were as bad as the food was good. One of the worst was the spitting image of Laverne DeFazio from the show Laverne and Shirley. Recently, I read a Yelp review about the hideous deli employee at that same store, so when I visited Chicago I stopped in. The lady behind the counter looked like she could be Laverne DeFazio's daughter! She was also as rude and slow as the day is long.
  10. Although this has not occurred recently, I have awoken confused as to whether something was real or a dream.
  11. It is actually a Hilton now. Switched from Wyndham within the last year or two. Which, of course, proves your point.
  12. Virtually everyone will poo-poo these suggestions, but as a practical gay who gets shit done, I'm accustomed to it: San Francisco Marriott Marquis (the one at 780 Mission Street): No, it is not super-posh, but yes the staff is great; it is near MUNI, BART, and SoMa parking garages; Marriott is very supportive of the LGBTQ community (scored 100% on HRC's Corporate Equality Index); and your SPG status should be good there now that Marriott owns Starwood. It is also a big hotel, so your clients' privacy and anonymity is pretty well assured Hilton Union Square: BIG hotel that also has a Starbucks and a decent restaurant and bar. The rooms are OK and it is close to MUNI and BART. Parking is a bitch. Hilton Financial District: I like this hotel, but the elevators are a pain in the ass, the streets nearby are all torn up, and there's not a whole lot of "there" there.
  13. That was our point. The jackass wanted a receipt from a professional installer.
  14. When we were selling my dad's house the building inspector and the buyer's real estate agent made a huge deal out of the lack of carbon monoxide detectors. "Installation" was mandatory, required "proof of installation," etc. The inspector did notate that he saw a detector in its package on a shelf in the laundry room. "Installation" involved removing said detector from the package and plugging it into an outlet. So, my brother took video of me getting the detector off the shelf, removing the package, plugging the detector into the wall outlet, and performing the test. The buyer's attorney insisted on additional proof. Our attorney said "no." The buyer agreed with us as did their mortgage company.
  15. A former colleague retired to Arecibo. She liked living there but likes it less now that electricity is rather scarce. Still, she was able to live steps from the beach for a fraction of what it would cost to do so on the mainland.
  16. Was checking SD/LA ads and saw that he logged into RM on 5/16.
  17. Gives a new meaning to the phrase "marking the event."
  18. I know he has been discussed before when he used a different variant of "Brent[fill in the blank]" but searching for "Brent" yielded nothing about him.
  19. Today NPR's Morning Edition had a story about road, er, aisle rage at a German IKEA store.
  20. My 2012 Dodge is keyless and I have never left it running. When I have opened the door with the engine running this annoying bell goes off, similar to the one that goes off when the lights are left on. The self-cleaning gene pool strikes again.
  21. You might want to look into using tapatalk (https://www.tapatalk.com/). You can either create your group by using your own domain and linking it to their website or simply create a group within tapatalk that would have a URL like "https://www.tapatalk.com/PapaTonyGroup." It appears to be free of charge.
  22. Please, @BabyBoomer, don't confuse us with facts. Minds have been made up.
  23. Having hired Matt a few years ago, I can't see him making anyone doing anything.
  24. I can see that. All of the pics are of the same guy but his face looks different when he changes his hair and looks very different when he shaves his facial hair. Even more dramatic is how his body changes when the light changes.
  25. Because it is so difficult to mix ketchup and mayonnaise.
