  1. Would this be the wrong place to mention the parody site called the Dysfunctional Family Circus?
  2. Whoa, whoa wait a minute. You are re-using something?
  3. Have Oak Park and Evanston started requiring full hazmat gear? I ask that with love and affection, as I enjoyed living in both communities, but they do have a tendency to go overboard.
  4. Vons was my favorite grocery store in San Diego and Safeway is my favorite in Phoenix. It pains me to like Safeway after what they did to Dominick's (preferred Jewel-Osco and always did, but Dominick's was decent before being Safewayized and closed), but even before COVID-19 Fry's (like Ralphs in SoCal) just doesn't measure up.
  5. I've heard that from friends who shop at various Mariano's. The most vocal critics are those whose Mariano's was not converted from Dominick's. One of them even said this is worse than what Safeway did to Dominick's, and Safeway ruined Dominick's. (You probably know that already unless to moved to Chicago after 1999). I asked someone at Fry's where I could find a clean cart and she pointed at the carts the guy brought in straight from the parking lot. When I asked for one that had been sprayed with sanitizer and wiped down, like at Safeway, she said they weren't doing that. I left and went to Safeway where they had two people at the door at 8:00 PM wiping down carts and handing them to customers.
  6. I do the same with hand sanitizer wipes. In my area (Phoenix) I've noticed that Safeway, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's has people walking around the store cleaning and sanitizing shelves, displays and dairy/meat cases and has people stationed at the entrances cleaning and handing out carts. Fry's (part of Kroger) does not do this. Has anyone else who lives in an area where both Albertson's (a/k/a Safeway, VONS, Jewel-Osco, Acme, Shaw's/Star) and Kroger (a/k/a Ralphs, King Soopers/City Market, QFC, Smith's, Mariano's) noticed that Alberston's seems to be taking sanitation to a higher level than Kroger?
  7. There was an article on sanitation that warned against using sanitizer or clorox on produce. You'd think it was common knowledge that chlorine and food don't mix.
  8. Their spray disinfectant has already been added to the list, so their wipes shouldn't be far behind. Now, if Phoenix had not led the nation in paper product hoarding (GO PHOENIX!) I might be able to buy some.
  9. You are absolutely right about the need to clean the surface first. People forget about that.
  10. That's not entirely accurate. If a product is listed on the EPA's List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2, then it will kill the coronavirus if the disinfectant is left on the surface and remains wet for the length of time indicated in the"Contact Time in Minutes" column of the list. The best way to search the list is by the EPA registration number, which can be found on the package, usually near the list of active ingredients.
  11. What a great idea! As we and our bones age it can get difficult to balance on a two-wheeler.
  12. That and the shitheads who bought 1,800 rolls have finally stopped buying more. Today's shopping expedition was quite fruitful. Bought TP and paper towels at Target. They even had six of the quart-sized bottles of bleach and I bought one of them, as I am almost out. Safeway had almost everything on my grocery list. This week's random out-of-stock item was brown sugar. Neither Target not Safeway had any.
  13. You can always freeze it! When two friends were first living together they decided to bake naked. Although noone was seriously injured, they agreed they would never do that again. They didn't volunteer, nor did I press for, details.
  14. Because he is busy performing surgery, silly!
  15. Meanwhile, my two cats are curled up next to me vying for pats and pets and scratches. Good thing I don't have three of them. I'd run out of hands! That's another way of saying "foster or adopt a couple of kittens." Many cats bond with their people (all of mine have), but typically kittens and very young cats are more resilient when it comes to leaving their human.
  16. Some humor, courtesy of The New Yorker.
  17. On Reddit I follow: A university professor An RN who has a Masters degree in nursing A PhD candidate (don't recall what he is studying) A biologist A veterinary technician Several guys who have jobs where they wear suits and ties Among the escorts I've hired are: An attorney A safety and risk management expert A CNA A banker A CPA A pharmacist The GM of a restaurant The real questions are "What happened to not judging a book by its cover?" and "When did that fall out of fashion?'
  18. Glad to hear you are doing well and are on a different path than before. Also glad to see you taking ownership of things you did and said. Wish more people would follow your example. FWIW, I like your most recent pic better than the older ones. You look great. Very handsome. All the best in your new endeavor!
  19. Alcohol is a trigger for my asthma so I tend to avoid it as a matter of course.
  20. I do remember Megamates. Their billboards were in every gay ghetto in the country. They had a sibling site called Megaphone that cut out the profile and voice mail. You would record a greeting describing yourself and then send "live" messages to other guys who were online. You could also talk directly with a guy. Can't tell you how many guys I met off that thing.
  21. I used it to contact a guy here in Phoenix about meeting post-COVID-19. It worked like the old mail system.
  22. Thanks for correcting me. I searched but didn't find anything. Must have entered his name wrong or something.
  23. I believe it was a little of both. His career pretty much died because of the spiraling out of control.
  24. No, @jeepo1, it was his CAREER that died.
  25. Considering some of the scents they use in commercial hand sanitizer, molasses would be an improvement.
