Norwegian Air has painted Harvey Milk's face on the tailfin of its newest Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the latest in a series of "tailfin heroes" on the carrier's fleet.
In addition to Milk's 20-foot-tall visage, interior bulkhead walls are fitted with captioned photos of the slain civil rights leader, so passengers who see his face on the outside will learn more about his life and legacy once they are onboard.
The 338-seat jet will be based in London, flying to several of Norwegian's long-haul destinations, including San Francisco, where it launches service this Sunday.
