  1. My neighbors ended up with too much celery. They ordered fresh produce from a restaurant; it had too much on hand and not enough business. Offered me some - made for a great cream of celery soup last night; made in the bread machine! (Yes, I cheat!) I returned the favor this morning by dropping off a bottle of home made ginger ale. Had to warn them - it has a kick! ;)

    Homemade ginger ale!! nice :)

  2. I just shop every 2 weeks. My 3 friends/neighbors in my building and I always share shopping lists whenever anyone is making a bulk delivery order or running out for some light stuff and we pick things up for each other. I also take out 2 to 3 times weekly so i don‘t do much cooking as I sometimes stretch out 1 meal into 2. The only thing i really miss is going to chinatown for dimsum - i love the frenetic pace and the crowds, but i don’t see myself going there in the near future. Prior to the pandemic, i rarely ate at home and I can remember how infrequently i would have to use my dishwasher - perhaps once a week? Now i have to run it everyday. I‘ve learned to make sourdough bread and baguettes and am a fairly good cook, but would always prefer the variety and selection of cuisines that NYC has to offer.

  3. The EU doesn't allow American chicken in bc it's chlorinated.[/zz

Have you tried “jidori” chicken. A lot of japanese supermarkets in the US have it and it is free ranging organic and extremely flavorful like the old country. I get them whenever i have a chance, but Bell and Evans is a nice substitute.

  4. I enjoyed Medici tv for a number of years, but cancelled recently as it was cultural overload. Also, it had some streaming issues and the interface was cumbersome. I prefer going to live opera, but the coverage of several music festivals was awesome.

  5. As long as we are diverted into Mary Tudor territory: One of my quaratine projects is reading the third volume in Hilary Mantel's trilogy about Thomas Cromwell, who basically ran the English government in the middle period of Henry VIII's long reign. Fascinating, and a wonderful read. First volume is Wolf Hall, #2 is Bring up the Bodies, and this one is The Mirror and the Light (just out this month I believe). Lots about the childhood and early adult years of Mary Yudor. Elizabeth was an infant/very young child at that point (mid to late 1530's). I can't recommend them too highly.

I'd love to read the 3rd book. I heard the author in an interview and she said she would never write another historical novel like it again (very intensive and extensive research).

  6. Yes, Lady Jane Gray was never accorded the title. I don't think Phillip's title was anything more than a courtesy whereas William and Mary were joint sovereigns and he remained king when she died.

I believe William and Mary were both descendants/ grand children of Charles 1. So both had claims?

  7. I too enjoyed it last night. I didn‘t participate in the first one, but thought it would be fun to check it out. It started with a gallery view of 7 sexy guys taking showers leaving nothing to the imagination. Everyone was scrubbing and posing. This was followed by little bios or introductions from each guy, how they got into stripping, etc.. There were some porn stars and a very hot brazilian - Marcus (perfect teeth, great cock, and hot ass...)

Tim and Matt were fun hosts and I enjoyed the “late night“ talk show format interspersed with games of Best Ass, Best Dick, etc...Got to learn a little more about the hosts who are genuine and very frank about their backgrounds in stripping etc.. It was nice to be able to interact/chat with other members on the message board (viewer is not shown but you can see the names of guys chatting). There was a Q/A feature that allow viewers to ask questions of the hosts. I didn’t stay for the whole show (I left around 12:15 am).

It was fun though and I would recommend it for those who want something fun/titillating. It‘s not chaturbate but i think there were virtual privates available after the show; i didn’t avail myself of that. Perhaps next time once i have venmo or cashpay to tip individual dancers set up (tip info is listed on their thumbnail). I think you could also send via paypal to the organizer to facilitate as well.

  8. Cats are also a great option as they are lower maintenance and equally as affectionate as dogs. Plus, when the pandemic is over, you can still go out and not feel guilty about not "walking the cat". I was never a cat person...always had dogs growing up, but when a friend asked me to house sit his cat, i fell in love and now I have 2 cats and a dog.

  9. I have about 5 N95 masks that are probably at least 10 years old. I plan on using one or two for the grocery store and wondering if spraying with 91% alcohol will be sufficient to sterile. I only have a few pairs of disposable gloves but have some polyester blend winter gloves that I use and then toss in wash or alcohol spray. The problem is, as someone on here mentioned, as soon as you touch something in the store, you should consider them contaminated. There was a Youtube video showing a woman in the grocery store with gloves and then she touched her keys, which then went back into her purse, etc. It seems like an endless cycle.

I get home, empty my pockets, toss the clothes into the wash (keep the lid already open!) then wash hands. Then toss in detergents, etc. and start wash. Then sanitize groceries, wash hands, then sanitize phone, wallet, etc. Wash hands again twice and then wash face (OK, I am obsessive now). My friend is now putting his phone in a baggie so if he needs to use it while out he can. Comes home opens the bag and lets the phone slip out, then tosses baggy and washes hands.

What is everyone doing to disinfect produce?

The Taiwanese FDA approved recycling the N95 by placing them in a rice cooker (no water) and pressing the cook button for 3 minutes and letting it sit for 5 minutes afterwards before removing. It can be done 3 to 4 times without any loss in effectiveness provided the mask has not been soiled.

  10. When Vegas re-opens, go out for a day trip. Everyone flocks to the Grand Canyon. Don't. Hit Bryce, Zion or Red Rock. There are trails that you literally have all to yourself. At night, go back to the hotel and find something just as breath-taking to play with in bed.

It‘ll be a full day trip to Zion and Bryce from LV. Did that once and enjoyed it. There is also Cedar Breaks, which is lovely and quiet.

  11. International travelers to destinations that require visas will probably find them much harder to get for the coming year. Many more Americans will be taking domestic vacations. Look for the national parks to be overloaded with visitors when (if?) they re-open later this year.

America has one of the world‘s best park systems... whenever i go though, it’s mainly foreigners. So hopefully, people will begin to explore and appreciate the wonderful national parks/ monuments in the US.

  12. Agree 100%. LA requires it. I suspect the rest of California will follow suit soon too. Czech Republic was the first in Europe to do this and they are the first to slowly re-open things. Of course, they are blessed with the genetic gene pool of the porn gods. Even if they all had paper bags over their heads, their whole country on average would still look better than almost anyone else's naked.

Wearing a face mask is a social contract with others: I won’t spread my germs, if you don‘t spread yours. It only works if everyone participates. Unfortunately, the US is not a homogeneous society and there will always be those who do not follow rules.

  13. I have a friend who returned from China to New York late Feb-March. He was forced to quarantine for 2 weeks at a cheap hotel near JFK. Costs were about $1500 per week with the meal plan. 2 (very hot) federal marshalls stood outside the building to prevent people from escaping. I wonder if they offer room service?

  14. I was talking to my friend the other day, he told me his doorman was reporting guys who had “late night male visitors”. I never thought that people would be hooking up these days. Another friend told me they have a “no visitor” policy during the pandemic. I‘m on my building’s condo board, and we have never even thought about instituting this type of policy yet...believing that most residents would do the responsible thing. But, there are a lot of gays in this building. I just don‘t want any retribution... :)

  15. When you spend more than an hour or so with a person, you learn more about them. Leo Giamani for instance reads all of this serious stuff. With Bruce it was really like swimming in the shallow end. Once you weren't talking about the porn world or maybe dogs, there was really not much he had to say.

That is the problem for extended stays with some escorts. Some are just good for sex. Others may not be as hot, but are charming and are entertaining in and out of the boudoir. It is hard to find someone that is both hot and entertaining :(
