  1. I haven’t been to Coquette or Shaya. Thanks for the suggestions. I’m also looking at Restaurant Revolution. Have you been?

i remember the place on Toulouse....that’s been gone a few years now! Sounds like Rawhide and Eagle aren’t what they were either.....sigh.

thanks for the food suggestions. I’m confident in the food and drink indulgence options in NOLA anyway.

    ?

My friends who have a second home in NOLA... love Restaurant Revolution! They always recommend it, but my stomach can only handle so much food. You are right, one can easily over indulge in NOLA. I believe LA has the highest BMI in the nation. Are you going during one of their music festivals? I was there last year for the French Quarter Music Fest... was quite fun.

  2. Heading to New Orleans soon. Always enjoy the food scene there - and looking to try some new places.

sadly, the nightlife there seems to have continued the trend of becoming “more wholesome “......but any suggestions appreciated. In the past, I have resorted to bringing some companionship with me....this time heading in solo. Fingers crossed I can find something interesting while I’m there

    cheers-

Have you been to Coquette? It‘s a wonderful restaurant in the Irish Channel neighborhood. Also Shaya for israeli food is quite good too. Can’t really make suggestions for providers as I had one of my regulars fly in with me. There used to be a wonderful sex club on Toulouse, but those are condominiums now...

  3. Has anyone seen Harlots (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5761478/)? I’m late to the game, but just finished Season 1 on Amazon (bought the 1st season) and then happily subscribed to Hulu to watch Seasons 2 and 3. Currently on Season 2. Such a wonderful guilty pleasure describing the brothels and competition among the Cat Houses of London centered around Covent Garden and Soho. Wonderful acting by Lesley Mandville and Jessica Brown Findlay (who played the youngest daughter on Downton Abbey). I think they used Harris’ 1788 list as inspiration for the novel/tv series: http://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/42075/pg42075-images.html

Here is a review of the show: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2019/jul/08/harlots-season-three-lesley-manville-liv-tyler

I wonder what scholars 200+ years from now would think about daddysreviews? Will they derive the same naughty pleasure / jouissance from reading about compensated encounters of lascivious activities with hot agreeable studs?

  4. One thing I've noticed with the Brazilians especially is that they do not tend to stay for very long. One in Denver was my go-to escort for almost a year, but unfortunately his visa expired and he had to return to Brazil. Enjoy them while you can.

I think their travel visa is good for 6 months... they can come and stay but if they stay the maximum and renew immediately, they risk being questioned and so they make a ”tour” and go to Europe for a bit, and then return. Some are looking for someone to sponsor them or marry so they can stay. They don’t always work in Europe as they made enough in NYC and cannot adjust their prices to european ones (at least per my regular brazilian who is now doing time in Spain before returning to US). Imagine making 350 in New York and then moving to Barcelona and asking for 100.

  6. Lucky man! I'm in San Francisco, and the Brazilian escorts I've hired have all been memorable. Though, I don't see too many here, now.

Yes, they’re highly sexual and very service oriented as it is their main income while here on tourist visas. They make so much bank that they can support their parents and siblings. It’s a job but they are very good at it.

  8. You had me at “Sartorial”......

    Nothing.

If you were wearing a buttonless jacket sleeve to a party, I would avoid you at all cost.

    3 minimum. I personally prefer 4 but that’s a style choice. 2 looks childish.

There‘s a gay man’s fantasy joke in there somewhere.....

But to answer the question: straight.

The other two look like a trainwreck on your sleeve.

Either that or your tailor has a serious problem judging distances.

To save all the Philistines the trouble....basting is that strange white temporary thread

you see on an expensive suit. It gets removed by your tailor when he finishes the suit.

My personal preference is 4 buttons, straight. I always leave the 4th unbuttoned so you

can tell they’re real button holes. Cheap jackets just have decorative buttons and no holes.

    They should be burned.

If you want to be edgy, have the 4th button hole stitched in a contrasting color. That’s enough.

And for the slower students that need visual aides:

Thanks! I’ll go with the 4 straight, with the 4th in contrasting color :) Appreciate the advice. I deliberately go to Neiman;s fo the cute shop boys :)

  9. Gentle readers, what say you to buttonless jacket sleeves? Do you prefer 3 or 2 buttons? straight, kissing, or waterfall? I’m in such a dilemma. I have a new jacket with basted sleeves... and don’t know if I should have it finished with buttons or just sewn up? The tailor at Neiman Marcus seems to suggest I should, and II know it is a custom feature to have unbuttoning cuffs but i really don’t see myself rolling up my sleeves at any time. Are buttoning sleeves antiquated? Should i just have them sewn up?

  10. I had a fantastic time with him. Nice, agreeable, beautiful guy. Only thing is, he wore his gogo boy outfit to my place... which I’m sure gave the doorman a lot to talk about...

  11. I think this is more an unfortunate story of despair and hopelessness..... the GAY aspect is irrelevant, so dont let it dissuade you if you really want to cruise.

Agree. My good friend went on an Atlantis party cruise alone and met up with his mousy boyfriend (who was also traveling solo). so there is always something for everyone.
