There is a reason why certain ultra lux brands dont have TV ads budget.

For India service providers you will have more choice on Hunqz. For regular meet ups, try Planet Romeo. These two are the most popular in India. 
You can also find the gay parties on Facebook. There are almost no gay clubs or bars (except maybe?? Mumbai), but there are weekly parties in clubs/bars.

A near foolproof method is to only hire from well-reviewed providers on CoM.

Any practical tips to mitigate the risk - such as not paying upfront, method of payment (cash vs electronic), using a different number etc etc?
