It sounds as though you had very positive feelings about him after your first date, which you said was an overnight so there was plenty of time to connect beyond the sex.  If those were reciprocated AT ALL, why didn't he come to you, tell you he was in a money crunch and ask if you would give him some money now in exchange for your next date.   It's a much more honest, up-front approach than scamming you for a fake deposit.
And, from the way you write about him, I am guessing in that case you'd have given him the money without hesitation.  I've done that a few times with guys if I trusted them (even after one meeting).  Apart from one scammer who ghosted me, each time I gave an 'advance' to a provider, it established a deeper and more rewarding relationship with him.  Their generosity with time and effort going forward actually made those advances a great investment.

I'm extremely disappointed with Theo.
When he was in Ohio, he was an angel. I talked to him several times on RM, and he was top-notch.
Then, we scheduled to meet when he came to my town. I even offered to pay more than his standard rate. The time came, and he canceled his trip at the last second without any notification. When I inquired, he never responded.
