That's been the go-to argument during the whole pandemic for people who don't want to wear masks on planes.  Meh.  I pay zero attention to folks that claim you can't get Covid on a plane.

Yup...hospitalizations up everywhere.  Based on the weekly numbers issued yesterday, we're now on our fourth weekly increase in Covid hospitalizations here in Michigan.  Deaths increasing in some places.  I stay masked when I am amongst others.

In spite of the eyeroll from the infectious disease amateur, the numbers are going in the wrong direction for a disease that is becoming endemic.  Hospitalizations are up nationally.  We will have to wait a week or so to see what happens with deaths.

A retired doctor who, even when practicing, had no special qualification in infectious disease or epidemiology.  But some people think they know everything about everything.

It's called dynamic pricing and it's been a part of commercial air travel for over a decade.
If you have elite status, you get to pick seats gratis.
It's not unbelievable.  It's just business.  They have shareholders. 
You snooze, you lose.  That's why I don't usually book on discounters and stick to the airline websites, where I can put a fare on hold for up to 10 days while I think about it.
 

That will be hard to determine.  For those that suffer long-term health problems tied to the lockdowns...is that better or worse than dying from COVID had there been no rules or lockdowns?

Pretty frightening to see people still after 2 years refer COVID as "just another cold"!!! COVID causes far more systemic inflammation than many other viruses, which is why we debate whether hospitalized COVID patients should receive treatment doses of anticoagulation to minimize the microvascular damages caused by the excessive inflammation, and why some young patients get the multi-inflammatory syndrome from COVID and also likely a contributor to this still rather mysterious "long COVID syndrome" that scientist and medical professionals are only scratching at the surface to understand, never mind treat and/or prevent. For sure newer variants are causing less hospitalizations and ICU admissions, but if you have a large enough population infected, by shear numbers there will be a large enough subgroup of them needing hospitalizations and ICU admissions that prevent others who need it from getting that level of care. There is no equivalent in the degree of inflammation seen in some COVID patients in the common cold. So please stop equating them!!!
And please remember, there is no rule that guarantees the virus will not mutate to a MORE virulent strain and stay that way....like Ebola!  What we can do, however, is to provide less chances or the virus to mutate, which is achieved with less infections overall. It is the laws of nature, and no amount of ignorance, screaming about personal freedom, or wishful thinking will change that. 
And while we certainly can't lockdown or close restaurants etc forever, we most definitely can put a mask on when indoors in crowded places, and be careful about our interactions to minimize risks. We will NOT return to "normal" or "preCOVID", at least not for a while. We are moving to a "new normal", and that just may involve wearing a mask more often than before.   

I will continue to guided by the pros.  After all, epidemiologists deal with this stuff every day.

He is just another of those people who resent the mask mandates  and say silly stuff like "My body - my choice."  The difference is that Unicorn has constructed an elaborate pseudo-scientific justification for his resentment of mask mandates.   And clever people can make a set of statistics say almost anything they want them to say.

I cannot fathom why @Unicornis so committed to keeping his views here a priority. He's on vacation in Belize!

We tried Freshly several years ago and thought the food quality was quite good.  However, after about 4 weeks, we cancelled primarily due to the wasteful amount of packaging involved.  It seemed very environmentally unfriendly.

Thanks to NFJ and Unicorn for the feedback.  Mom and I are both scheduled for our second booster on Monday.  We will go for Moderna this time just to switch it up after three Pfizer jabs.  Thanks again for the input.

That’s pretty hot actually… (Men’s quarters limbo fest). I  tend to think there is much less of that these days… (for a number of reasons).

Some unimaginable number for me… more of my DNA out there globally then Genghis Khan, (or at least a close runner up…)~ More mind boggling to think about is how many individual sperm that equates to~ Each tiny Pearl a pale blue dot…   
 I feel a Carl Sagan moment coming on: Billions and Billions… in some hungry butts~ The only home they’ve ever known~  😳🙈
