Rely on your ATM card for most of your cash needs. Make sure you advise your card's issuing bank that you will be traveling....and where to. Also review your ATM settings to be sure you are comfortable with daily maximum withdrawal amount. I've lived (off and on) and traveled throughout South America for over 30 years. You need nothing more than an active ATM card. Safe travels!

EZEtoGRU got a reaction from + azdr0710 in Swinging Richards update
I was at Swinging Richards on Thursday night during a very short visit to Atlanta. I thought the line-up of dancers was very weak in comparison to my last few visits there. The hottest dancer was so stoned, he could hardly stay standing on the stage. When he finished his show, he fell asleep (passed out) on one of the sofas in the VIP area and that was the end of him. I don't know if the line-up I saw on Thursday is representative of SR's talent now. If it is, I would say they have really declined in the last year. One dancer was actually seriously overweight (although, admittedly, he did have a huge penis). Pretty disappointing night there. I tipped a few guys on-stage and that was the extent of my "fun" even though I came to the club with a wallet full of cash that I was intending to spend.

Interesting article from Bloomberg discussing how the building of high-rise condos is reducing the number of stripclubs in the city. Remingtons is mentioned as are several female strip clubs.

At least he takes some ownership of his situation (unlike Trump, Conyers, and Moore).

Of course his partial owning up changes nothing about how awful his actions are. His career is destroyed, his marriage likely finished, and he could face difficult relationships with his children. Not to mention the potential legal cases he will likely face. He deserves all of it.

My father’s old German aunt and her husband ran a whorehouse out of their home in downtown Detroit in the 20’s and 30’s. My dad remembers going to the house as a child and being asked to take bottles of wine up to the rooms of the guests. He really didn’t understand what it was all about until later.

The same old aunt ran a blind pig in Detroit and supposedly shot one customer dead cause he was causing problems. Sounds like she was a tough old broad.

Interestingly, my dad recalled that during the depths of the depression, this old aunt was the only one that had any money. If food was tight, she would turn up with a basket of food at the house. My dad remembered several Christmases where the only presents came from the old aunt.

Rather than being considered a black sheep, she was considered the eccentric old aunt that often saved the day for the rest of the family.

No question that Fort Lauderdale has more strip clubs and a more vibrant gay scene than Miami. Lauderdale is also more "American"....meaning more English is spoken versus in Miami. Having said that, I do like the vibe in Miami. It is more exotic and more Latino and more sensual. I speak fluent Spanish....so I love consuming endless bottles of Veuve with hunky Latino strippers at Twist and speaking nothing but Spanish the whole night. I also love doing the SOBE/Coral Gables restaurant scene....which I feel is better than the Ft. Lauderdale restaurant scene. Different strokes for different folks. There really isn't a "right" answer here. It depends on how you are wired and what you like. Enjoy!!

I'm partial to Fort Lauderdale. Less traffic, less attitude, less drama.

Wilton Manors is the gay area.

Leboy: for more the twink type, but some gorgeous muscled hybrids can be found on any given night.

The Boardwalk: Hands down for the muscle boys. Was there last Friday and they had a rather amazing line up...most were very friendly, fantastic ripped bodies and no attitude. I was pleasantly surprised.

Johnsons: Located in the heart of Wilton Manors. It's all new and a nice format reminiscent of Swinging Richards. He's working on the line up, but promising. Bartenders pour a solid drink that are half the price and twice the size of anything on The Drive. Staff is friendly, and an owner that is very visible and involved in the daily operation of the bar.

Southern Nights, Hunters: Has go go boys, but no strippers, meaning no VIP or back rooms.

Hotels: Depending on your price point...Plenty of decent Gay B&B's in North Beach, but I'm partial to the W or the Hilton on the beach. Prices are often competitive with the B&B's and they have consistent service. I personally like the Beach area for hotels. More traffic and congestion, but very walk-able and lots of eye candy. Sebastian's (the gay beach) is right across the street. Friends recommend The Hyatt at 17th St Causeway. You always can find good prices but the run to Wilton Manors is a little farther...Good luck.

    On a side note...I don't do Miami.
