OMG! "Stan and Biggies" restaurant. I ate there several times as a kid growing up in St. Louis. One time when we were there, Stan stopped by our table to say hello. Fond memories. Since I moved to Chicago to start my career, I became a Cubs fan, but always found a soft place in my heart for the Cardinals.

When I took Stan Musial in as a partner in my restaurant, I needed a partner about as much as I needed a new outboard motor for my automobile. Which gives you a rough idea of how fond I am of this smiling kid from Donora, Pennsylvania, who I consider without any disqualification to be the greatest guy and the greatest ballplayer of my career.

Thanks for posting this news, I was wondering why I hadn't read any recent posts from him. He and I exchanged many PM's over the years on the bars in Ft. Lauderdale.

I remember my father's friends and other adult males use that expression to describe a fit well stacked in the chest woman!
 
 

 
"For crying out loud" My brother-in-law is a New Yorker and grew up there during the 50's he uses this expression.

The shoe polish went out of business in the 60s, but the name was purchased as an online retail outlet as Shinola dot com.

This is from a few years ago, so someone can correct me if I am wrong. In Wilton Manors (Ft. Lauderdale) the Ramrod Bar has a small patio in the rear which is intimate and friendly.

Some continue to look the same, well after their 20's. One particular guy that I remember (whom I had seen for 10 years or so) didn't seem to age.
I took him to dinner to celebrate his 40th birthday, and he was carded by the bartender in a bar we went to before dinner, and again in the restaurant.
He looked just like he did when I first met him.

Any recent visitors to SR? Looks like the club has been back for a couple of months and is open Thursday-Saturday. Any recent reviews?

After dinner last evening, I stopped by Johnson's for one last cocktail. Arriving at about 10:15, I had to wait about 5 minutes to be admitted as the club was keeping a tight limit on the number of guests. Inside, it felt like there were fewer tables. While seated, you were able to remove your mask and about every 5-10 minutes there was a reminder that if you were standing, you needed to have a face covering.
 
I think I counted about 12 dancers while I was there. They were on the stage three at a time and I think they were up there for two songs. Dancers had on masks while on stage - in one or two cases, the masks covered more area than what else a guy was wearing. (Hooray for us!)
 
While I didn't partake, lap dances were available.

I read through the forums about Ziegfields and Secrets closing but curious if there are others left in the DC or Northern VA area. Asking for a friend

I just noticed a "now Hiring" post on FB. Apparently for all positions: dancers, bartenders, security, drag entertainers, etc. I hope Lee the bouncer who has been there since they were "Johnny's" will return.

Good report, pdxleo. Thx. Would also like to hear from others a description of the dancers, how many there were, what their interaction was, and the overall vibe.

That is pretty scary to me.

I texted a dancer that I know there a few days back. They just reopened yesterday. While dancers are there and mingling, no VIPs. Have not heard how yesterday went.

Yikes. 100% capacity seems a bit premature. Here in Illinois, indoor bars are still closed, after being shut down earlier in the summer once infection numbers began to rebound.

First signs of a bit of normalcy. YEAH!

If Johnson's has opened, I would have expected better updates on its website rather than continuing the opening soon message. The facebook page use updated on the 16th.
