@Lucky @g56whiz. Yes certainly good times @ The 20 Club. It opened in Jan 2006. Found the original thread. Nice trip down memory lane. Glad most of the “Posse” is still in touch. NYC really
needs a comfortable club like this. Enjoyed our days of dinner, relaxing at the 20C, and being entertained by some of NY’s hottest dancers.

The season finale is the best of the episodes. Brings all the stories together for conclusions & sets the stage for Season 3, if there is one. The “young orphan” girl sings her heart out on the talent show as many of the events unfold. Well done... Yes, we get to see Dario’s cute butt in the finale.

The House Of Flowers is a new Netflix series. It’s quite good. It’s about a very likeable & good looking Mexican family that owns a very successful flower shop. It’s a crazy family that will do whatever it takes to support each other.

Lots of gay, straight, & bi sex. Each of the 13 Episodes is 30 min. It was just renewed for a 2nd series. The 1st episode won me over.

The House of Flowers (Spanish: La Casa de las Flores) is a Mexicancomedy-drama web television series created by Manolo Caro. It depicts a dysfunctional high-class Mexican family that owns a prestigious flower shop. The first 13-episode season was released on August 10, 2018.

A number of us Gaiety alum met and became regulars at Club 20. We'd often meet beforehand for supper at the Olive Garden at 22nd and Sixth and watch the dancers pass by in the windows on their way to "work". Then we'd rush to get to the club before the $10 door charge went into effect at 7 pm. We'd sit in a semicircle along the right side of the auditorium outside the restroom and critique the stage performance of the dancers and some of the lap dances happening behind us. We'd also comment on our tastes in lapdancers and reminisce about the Gaiety of blessed memory. That's where I first met Tim Adonis founder of the Adonis empire. He was doing seated massages for $10 a pop I think. Those were the day eh @Cooper?

I became a fan of Ben Platt’s when I saw his Tony winning performance in Dear Evan Hansen. Since then I’ve been following his career.

When I heard his 2019 concert at Radio City was being aired on Netflix, I couldn’t wait to see it.

His album got a lot of attention as some were calling it his coming out album. He wrote the lyrics to all his songs. They tell of struggles & happiness he’s had in his life.

The concert is good. I’ll leave it up to the fashion critics to describe his odd attire. He did look a bit awkward dancing and there were no special effects which we think of when attending a concert.

Ben told his story of how he came out to his parents. He was 12 at the time. It was funny & his parents were most accepting. They & his siblings are often shown at the concert.

I don’t know if any of his songs made the charts as I don’t hear them being played on the radio. He does have a Pandora station where you can listen to his music.

He puts his heart & soul into his singing, the same way he did playing Evan Hansen.

If you’re a fan of his you’ll enjoy his concert.

Just watched the first episode and enjoyed it. The acting is good and there are the abundance of sexy scenes (although they tend not to be overly explicit). I don't know what the rest will be like but it reminded me of the book Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars. Perhaps that is what it is based on and I just don't know it. The main character in the first episode is David Corenswet and he is good-looking to say the least.

    I

I forgot that Corenswet had been in Murphy's earlier The Politician.

Jeremy Pope also plays a sexy character and uses his body to seduce.

Dylan McDermott, who appears to be based on the Scotty Bowers mentioned above, and Patti LaPone also appear in the first episode. Hopefully the series will be as good as the first episode.

Now that my free 30 days of Netflix is up, I won't renew, not because I'm economizing but because I need to take a break from binging. Here are the rest of the series I gobbled down:

Neighbors: a Spanish superhero comedy that was pretty damn funny. No dubbing, though, and I doubt the humor would translate well to subtitles. The lead, Quim Gutiérrez, is a genius at light comedy.
Morocco, Times of War: a very solid drama set in the Rif War (between Spain & what is now Morocco, circa 1921). Unfortunately, it wasn't renewed for a 2nd season, but this one season is definitely worth watching.
Cathedral of the Sea: the story of a 14th century serf who rises to wealth & power. I had high expectations because it got great reviews, but it was so disappointing.
Locked Up: I watched the first 2 seasons on Spain's Antena 3; Seasons 3 & 4 are the Netflix renewal of the show. I was afraid maybe they were stretching the series out too long, but I liked the continuation almost as much as the original run.
Cocaine Coast: the tale of Sito Miñanco, who became the king of Galician drug trafficking (based on real life). Galicia, the northwest region of Spain, became the gateway for 3/4 of Europe's cocaine traffic because its ~1200 miles of coast are too much for law enforcement to patrol. The guy who plays Sito is a great actor, and the series is compelling viewing.
Apaches: a journalist returns to his old neighborhood and reunites with his childhood best friend to save his father & family from financial ruin. The tough part is that they make their money by robbing jewelry stores, although the series' main themes are not glamorous jewel heists but family & friendship.
Unauthorized Living: another tale of a Galician drug kingpin. This time it's a (fictional) 60-something man recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He has to fight off Mexican & Colombian rivals in the drug trade and save his family business from financial ruin, all while struggling against the relentless progress of his disease.
Fugitiva: Eek! Stay away! An interesting premise: a woman fakes her own kidnapping to escape with her three children from her abusive billionaire husband. The first episode is great, but oh boy, does it go downhill from there.

I'll sign up for Netflix again after they release Seasons 4 & 5 of Élite and Season 5 of Money Heist. When they released Season 4 of Money Heist on April 3, I thought that was the end of the series, but they left us with a helluva cliffhanger. I'm totally addicted to Money Heist, as are tens of millions more around the world. It's the most viewed Netflix series in many countries, something unprecedented for a non-English language show. Élite is a distant second favorite, well behind Money Heist, but I gotta see what happens to my favorite gay couple, Omar & Ander.

I also watched a bunch of movies, all forgettable except two: "We Need to Talk" is a romantic comedy that actually had me laughing out loud quite a bit, a rarity for me. "The Invisible Guest" is a murder mystery/thriller that was clever and original, a tall order considering the countless murder mysteries & thrillers that have been made/written.

In addition, a number of people in his building lost their jobs, have no money and no food. My friend has little money himself but went out and bought grocery gift cards to distribute to those people. What a mensch?.

I read about a “thing” springing up in some neighborhoods - a Bear Hunt.
Neighbors participating will place a stuffed bear somewhere visible from the sidewalk - in a tree, a window, etc, and parents with little kids can walk them around to hunt bear and report success on Facebook.
    Pretty cool
