  1. Indeed! While I understand his 'keep out of view' policy, I don't think positive comments in here are the worst thing even if he chooses to ignore them or distance himself from them. I would love him to talk to us here but completely understand if he chooses not to do so.
  2. To answer your original question @musclvr, I think a fair summary of the consensus of people here who have interacted with him on line and/or in person is that he is a good guy. I contacted him on RM messenger (not his preferred comms channel) and received a perfectly civil reply (and keeping the message in my messenger feed allows me to keep track of his current handle without buddy listing him). If he and I were in the same town, New York minute is a term that comes to mind.
  3. I try to avoid arraignments of any sort.
  4. Well, that's something of a give-away!
  5. More like that's something I'll never have to do again!
  6. What utter bullshit. If you can't tell the difference between making a snarky allegation and commenting on a question that had already been asked that's your problem not mine. And since I have a fair idea of what you'd say, I'll explain it slowly. I neither made nor implied an allegation, snarky or otherwise. I commented on the OP's question. And don't bother to post another asinine image. In another thread you said an image says a thousand words, although in your case, rarely the ones you think it does.
  7. I missed the opportunity (which I'll take now) to comment that this was an instance of a gay man being unfamiliar with a Broadway/West End musical.
  8. You drew an inference from your interpretation of my motives. I was not implying anything of the sort.
  9. Oh dear, further proof that I am old (or maybe that I live in an Anglophone Commonwealth country). [The George Bernard Shaw play] Pygmalion was one of my high school English texts and I'd seen the film of the musical My Fair Lady when it came out (when I wasn't old).
  10. I think there are two separate issues here, did he commit sexual assault and was he a sleaze bag. There is a law against the first, and the jury has decided that he did not. That's the end of it unless there was a procedural error that invalidates the trial, which is theoretically possible but unlikely. There is no law against the second, but was there a pattern of inappropriate behaviour, and does it 'deserve' the level of opprobrium he faced? Or should his alleged behaviour be none of our business unless it passes the threshold of criminality.
  11. Delicate? Oh, yes, delicate, that's it!
  12. Disparaging a woman because of her appearance. Classy!
  13. His efforts to make it an X social media platform are proceeding apace!
  14. Like other users who have posted here, I too was faced with the new rates (c$20/mo although that's in AUD) when I had been paying the discounted $AU49.95 for six months. Rather than pay the new monthly rate I chose to pay $AU159.95 for a full year, still more than I had been paying but considerably less than the monthly rate would have been.
  15. 'Think of the starving people in Africa.' Telling them to send what you didn't eat to them is apparently not the correct answer.
  16. https://twitter.com/AmboRudd/status/1682916680362770435?s=20This is the first time that a USN ship has been commissioned in a foreign port, and coincides with US participation in the multi-national Exercise Talisman Sabre in Australia. As Ambassador Rudd noted, although the ship bears the name of Australia's national capital, she is named for HMAS Canberra, and is the second ship to bear the name. She is the only ship in the US Navy that carries the name of a foreign capital. Today the ship's company exercised their right to enter the city of Canberra with drums beating, colours flying, and bayonets fixed to exercise the freedom of the city.
  17. Judaism is inherited matrilineally, so it must have been something else that prompted that change! 😁
  18. You gave them a photo to put in your passport, that's all they needed to enable them to use those biometrics for you to re-enter the country. As a foreigner I have to give them my finger prints to enter the US. You are at least spared that!
  19. Hmmm, and only an 8.5 hour flight from Sydney ...
  20. It's only in the Questions About Hiring forum, not others, and only the person who opens the thread has the option. It's not about any one person who offers their outlook being able to decide that what they said is the solution, it's about the OP (the one who wanted an answer) saying, 'Thank you, that answers my question'. Importantly, the OP doing that doesn't shut down the conversation and anyone is free to disagree and continue a debate. Others may have wondered about the question but not asked, and they may not be satisfied by the answer. If they wish, they can say why. But the OP was, and that is what the 'Solution' label is saying.
  21. There has been an active discussion of CBP's apparent use of facial recognition technology to target escorts (and potentially clients) at the US border, and their possible harvesting of facial images from sites like Rent Men to do so. This conversation has been taking place in a thread about the extent to which posting images of his face in his ad on RM will affect the number of clients he attracts. The CBP discussion is detracting from the intended subject of the thread, and what CBP might do is not a topic relevant to hiring but belongs here in the Lounge.
  22. Is a hot duck similar to your goose being cooked?
  23. I don't know, people trying to make another thread X rated!
  24. 'At the third stroke it will be 12.26 and 30 seconds.'
  25. Even if the wine is Yellowtail! (Shameless plug, there is undrinkable cheap Australian plonk, it is not among them.)
