  1. Inshallah. Or, 'Next year in Jerusalem.' Certainly if the 24 hour test rule is gone, probably even if it has not.
  2. Sigh. Yes, have fun everyone. Don't do anything I wouldn't do.. Ok, just go wild. Congratulations to @Oliver and chief chef @Epigonos on edition 19.
  3. Shouldn't this be in the thread about meal delivery services? Looks like a service I could sign up for. What? That;'s not the point of it?
  4. If you have had conversations or even met, and he has decided to stop talking to you, I would say keep your peace. He has decided to move on. An explanation would have been nice, but I don't think he is under any obligation to give you one. Either of you could have done that. If, on the other hand he has ghosted you on an appointment, it's not unreasonable to share that information here.
  5. @wsc I love scallops. Sauted in garlic and butter. Or chilli. You see what I did there, everyone has different tastes. One man's meat is another man's poison. Or one man's scallops ...
  6. Moderator's Note: The thread was posted in the Deli Forum (for escort discussions) and the moderators moved it here to the Spa.
  7. I've been on my back with my legs in the air, and my current favourite with four fingers in my arse saying 'Good boy'. Or with something else in there. I know there are some cultural contexts where 'boy' is verboten, and I respect that but when someone uses the word about themselves I struggle to be upset about it. I respect that others may feel differently. In a different context I wouldn't be upset if a group of guys my age said they were going out for a night with the boys. It would be no surprise if that happened here.
  8. Right now I'm half way through the hour that happens twice at this time of year. It's about 2.30am the first time today. Daylight saving ends in 30 minutes so it will be 2.30am again in an hour. When it passed 2am things that had been posted in the minutes before 2am showed up as being an hour ago, as if the computer thought that we were now at the second 2am+ of the day. When, a few minutes later, there were posts from after 2am it could again cope and showed them as x minutes ago. I have no idea whether it is the site, my computer or just the internet, and in reality it doesn't matter. It's not a problem, just a phenomenon that I observed, a quirk of the 'system'. Ramadan mubarak, everyone.
  9. So sad that he will pass away. We will all come to that time in our lives. Some will see it coming and will be able to choose their time, like M Delon. Others will have it thrust upon them, ready or not. Grieve his passing, do not resent his choice.
  10. I don't know if we're ahead or behind by six months. Either way right on cue our 29 degrees a week ago, today it's 14, so the winter flu season draws nigh.
  11. Is that a picture of a vulture on that bag? If so it is quite appropriate. I'm not sure I'd feel happy carrying a bag labelled as being for decaying meat even as a carry on. 😁
  12. In news only related by the presence of the word 'vaccine', I went to my local pharmacy about a week ago to ask about flu vaccines, and left my contact details for when they received stock. Yesterday morning I had a call from them to tell me that this year's seasonal flu vaccine for over 65s was out and I could go in and get my shot. Paid my $20 admin fee (the vaccine is free) and I was out of there (15 minute wait in case I had a reaction). No reaction then, and as a bonus no side effects in the ensuing 24 hours. Now, on into winter!
  13. The rifling in the barrel makes the projectile spin? 😀
  14. Damn, I still haven't managed to get that right! (And as an aside albeit as part of the thread's Great Tangent, there is a thread about overnights. It is in the Ask A Provider forum so technically clients shouldn't be pontificating about our views, but that hasn't stopped us before. I'm sure that there are others as well.)
  15. I haven't watched either Downton Abbey or the Gilded Age. They seem to provide a window (okay maybe a caricatured one, but a window nevertheless) onto a society that is more unfamiliar to us, so there is interest in that. But I can see the parallels with Housewives. What I hadn't specifically put my mind to was seeing gilded age or Edwardian society dramas for their campiness. Thank you for that!
  16. Anyone whose read Christos Tsiolkas' novel The Slap or watched a TV adaptation of it would be aware that a single slap can be controversial and prompt all sorts of reactions!
  17. A Boer who speaks Russian but not Afrikaans?
  18. (Your) mileage might vary. Meaning (if it wasn't clear), your experience might vary.
  19. It's a bit of a backhander to post a video about Qantas in an article about Air New Zealand, but given the specifics of the video it makes sense. (And interesting that they showed the 'Qantas 100' livery used to mark the airline's centenary.) As Ben noted in an OMAAT article a couple of days ago, you know that things are opening up when airlines in the two antipodean hermit kingdoms are launching new ultra-long haul flights. It'll be a bit before any of the Qantas Project Sunrise routes go into service, but they have announced an additional DFW service, from Melbourne, from December. It will be four days a week on a B787. They will also be reinstating A380s on MEL-LAX about the same time. This new ANZ flight will sell well here as they would be offering one stop connections from most big Australian cities (avoiding LAX and connecting flights on a US domestic carrier). It won't offer any worthwhile connectivity onto UA, but the ANZ non-stops to ORD and IAH will do that. It's less convenient for me because there are no direct flights from Canberra to Auckland, but if the fare's good I'd be there. I don't mind connections and longer flights if the price is right. Qantas haven't said if or when they will begin the Brisbane-ORD flights they had scheduled before the pandemic, but they have switched their BNE-LAX to be operated by A330s. That frees up their B787 fleet for longer-haul flights.
  20. It's one of the icons at the top right of the screen, in the row that includes the Notifications and PM icons. It's the second from the right. Hover the cursor over them and what they are for shows up. When you click on it a box appears with the available background, but if you scroll down in it there's a font size option. Edit - what @latbear4blk said!
