You may be mixing up prostate with everything working OK prostrate.

I watch a left-leaning British politics podcast not known for its favourable attitude towards the monarchy or the king himself but it recently selected him as its hero of the week from its panelists' nominations for a hero and a villain. They noted that since his announcement there had been a marked increase in men seeking prostate tests.
In case you were wondering, their villain of the week was not one of the usual roster of politicians but rather five African grey parrots who had been removed from their public-facing place at a zoo for excessive swearing. When they were moved, the other parrots they were placed with also learnt to swear. Zoo-keepers were planning to put them into a larger flock of birds in the hope they would alter their behaviour to be more like the others. What could possibly go wrong?

    Let's fix that:
People form their opinions on the health of the economy based on the constant drumbeat of the media -- even if it doesn't reflect their own experiences. No government report will change that.
That's why people who are doing pretty well in the current economy will nevertheless "think" that the economy is still bad for others.

'Semi-famous' sounds to me to be a claim that a you-tuber can make based on their own assessment. Whether anyone in this forum has heard of them is not likely to be relevant. @JoeWinkoReturns can claim that status without fear of any informed contradiction from the narrow slice of opinion here. I hadn't heard of him before he joined the forum, but there's a lot I know nothing about. More power to him!

No, I think you nailed it.
As a population scientist, you worry about the "n" of 100 million.
As a human, you worry about the "n" of one.

That has very little to nothing to do with the effectiveness of PrEP.
Do you have a link to studies that backup claims of widespread unreliability?
Breakthrough cases are extremely rare.  Yes, they happen, but it's not a concerning number at this point:
    https://www.aidsmap.com/about-hiv/prep-failures-breakthrough-infections
Many of these cases were due to user error (adherence).
Newer formulations of PrEP are even more effective and they will continue to refine it.
PrEP is not the bad guy.  It's a fucking life saver.

It would seem to be more useful to challenge posts you think are being unfair to providers directly in the thread where they were posted.  A vague post whinging about unspecific behavior is just an invitation to useless controversy.

I have a standard range Tesla Model 3 and drive it from Tucson to Southern California several times a year; charging times might add 2 hours to driving time, depending upon weather conditions and how fast I'm driving; there are Superchargers at Gila Bend, Tacna and Yuma in Arizona and El Centro in California before you reach San Diego; I do not mind the additional time, and if you grab a bite to eat and walk around a bit, it's not a bad way to travel.

At the risk of one of those tangents, I remember as a kid reading the Britannica Yearbook (yes, I was and am that sort of person) and seeing the Südtiroler Volkspartei as being represented in the Italian Parliament. South Tyrol was an Austrian province until it was annexed by Italy after WW1 and remains majority German-speaking.

incorrect logic - you can sell it.  you’re choosing not to sell it because you don’t like the options.  sounds like you want to stay put exactly where you are, same city/same type home - that’s a choice.
there’s always a less expensive option than what you have now & lower property taxes too.  choices have consequences- make them wisely

I should add that here, mortgages are variable, not fixed rate and full recourse, so we can't walk away from a property.

People went on an extended online spending orgy, which all transportation companies benefitted from. Plus there were supply chain issues causing a huge shortage of air freight space which meant people who would normally get delivery of orders by freight had to switch to express services.  UPS and FedEx had huge, but temporary, profits as a result. It was a supply-demand imbalance.

Now that things are returning to normal, they have volumes coming down, year over year, but still have significantly more shipments than they did pre-covid. So the volume and profit windfalls are over. It’s back to normal (good, instead of very exceptional) growth now.

Yes they are bellwether companies. But the numbers don’t mean impending recession. They mean the results must be viewed in light of tough comps that are specific to the express transportation industry.

I was all ready to break out the spreadsheet (yes, really, I was peak nerd in April) of my expenses for the trip (not just Palm Springs, but also some other travel and an east coast reunion) but instead I'll just second what @nycman and @purplekow have already said. The main expense is the travel (don't I know it), then the unavoidable high cost of most accommodation in Palm Springs, and a car rental if you choose either to fly into an LA basin airport rather than PSP or to have the safety net of your own wheels for the duration. Those costs are easy to scope before you go. Once there, I spent of the order of $100 on groceries, coffees, wine and take-away food on top of the modest costs of the two scheduled restaurant meals. You could spend more depending on where you choose to eat (my room had a kitchen). The cost of in-room entertainment is another matter.
