I've been lucky to meet some amazing people through RM. Many have become friends, others have become beloved regulars. 
And I also feel the urge to sometimes try out somebody new. This has panned out for the most part but tonight I was robbed by 'CreamyJoel' from RentMen.
When he arrived, I immediately noticed he did not match his photos AT ALL. I calmly asked him to leave and he started to press me for money immediately. I told him his photos didn't match and he became very angry and demanded money. 
Despite my survival instincts, I refused on principle. I fled to my room and tried to close the door but he jammed his arm into the door and wouldn't allow my escape. I then called 911. To my surprise, he said he wasn't afraid of the police and that he would assault me if I didn't give in immediately.
This went on for some time before he attempted to take my phone. After some time, he actually did swing and hit me in the face. I paid him $100 on Cashapp and he fled.
I now completely understand the abundance of caution you all take here by consulting reviews and carefully vetted references. 
I won't be doing that again, 

Curious … thoughts on etiquette - if you run into a provider outside that context.
I was once told by a prominent guy “If we EVER run into each other especially if I’m with other people, remember, we never met”.  I’ve remembered that ever since.
Ive often seen providers I’ve met at bars, parties and even having coffee at Starbucks. I’ve just ignored and truth is I think they would not recognize me out of context. 
The other day I realized a guy I’ve seen a couple of times was at the table next to me at a restaurant. We made eye contact for like 2 seconds and I quickly broke and looked away. A couple of  hours later, I received an angry text. That I was incredibly rude and hurtful, how it was clear I did not respect him as a person because I looked down on his profession, that I thought I could discard him and didn’t realize he had feelings etc. 
I was taken aback - and immediately sent an apology and explained I thought he would prefer discretion and assured him if he had approached my table m I would have introduced him to my friends
No response, and when I followed up a few days later to see if we were ok I saw he blocked me.
Did I really do something so offensive? 

Danny, Personally, I would not like to be contacted just because I looked at a providers ad. I find it somewhat creepy. This is just my opinion and it will be interesting to see what others think. I agree there is  no right or wrong way on this.

I've had trouble the last couple weeks or so using the hide me proxy the way I'd used it with success for the last few years to read the hidden-in-the-US reviews.......I now get three interminably bouncing dots........however, with some forum searching, I found @BuffaloKyle's suggested link......works great now and is even quicker than before........just paste the provider's reviews page in the box and "go"......no "are you 18?" check!.....no need to download the app or what-have-you......I don't use a VPN, but just want to do the occasional rentmen text review check.......

I don’t ask for an Uber. But if it’s an out call I add the cost of travel to my usual in call rate. I’m able to book an Uber all by myself 🙂.

This isn't an unusual situation. 
If you think he might be interested in you as an unpaid hookup, then contact him on Growlr and see how it goes.  If you think there's no way he's looking for your "type" apart from work, then contact him via his Rentmen contact info.  Note that some guys do actually "work" using platforms that supposedly don't allow it, so don't be surprised if the response to a Growlr inquiry asks for compensation.

I usually do not like to host because of those same reasons if I don't know the guy well.

My personal stance is that people shouldn't fool themselves into thinking it's anything more than a good time that's being paid for. A business exchange with some personality. I think problems arise because people have unfulfilled emotional needs, and that kind of thing can turn sad or ugly, quick. I'm sure there are escorts out there that have formed relationships or friendships with some clients, but I also suspect that some of those clients may be fooling themselves into thinking those relationships are more than they actually are.

With the newly designed Rent. men app, I have been having difficulty accessing  escort private pics. I have been a subscriber for years and never had problems before. When I click on "Request access to private pictures" nothing happens. Is anyone else having this problem. What am I doing wrong? I am getting no responses to many requests sent.

I am sorry this happened to you. You are going to have to report the theft to the police. It is necessary if you want to file a claim with your insurance company. You don't have to go into your "hiring" details, but will have to provide details that can help the police track him down. Like phone number and pictures. Do call your bank/credit card companies and notify them so they can check your accounts for unauthorized transactions and replace your cards.  If your computers are set up to "remote wipe" like mine are, initiate the wipe.  When you get new computers, change your login details for your accounts, in case the old credentials are saved in your browser on stolen computers. If he has your keys, you may need to change locks too since your wallet/ID probably has your address on it.  And post a link of the thief here so we know to avoid him.  Alternatively if he's been discussed here in a separate thread, leave a comment in the thread, something like "I met him. I do not recommend."  When I see that, I know something is up.  Good luck buddy!

I get not talking potitics in this section in the abstract. But it IS relevant to any escort review when the escort in question at least sometimes brings up politics with clients. That was very upsetting to me at the time, which is why I stopped seeing him. And I think others should know. 

Some negative reviews as you pointed on your previous statement still remain, unfortunately mine were removed. I guess not all escorts are willing to even ask RM to remove a negative review or not all of them get removed. 

Yes, rentmen allows negative reviews from those who pay for their so-called "premium" membership. 
However, if a provider (who pays $1,000 or more per month to rentmen for advertising) contacts rentmen and wants the negative review removed, the negative review will disappear. 
Rentmen might be the biggest and best advertising source for hiring providers but rentmen has its faults for not being honest about reviews.

The provider must ask rentmen to remove the negative review.  If the provider is a long-term paying customer, the negative review will disappear from their site.  

I did not say there were no negative reviews.  I said that most negative reviews (reviews marked with less than five stars) are removed from a provider's account either shortly after the review is posted or within a few weeks.  
 

And btw, some of us long time clients still only pay $9.90 a month for premium. Loyalty has it's rewards.
