Your Name Engraved Herein, which opened in Taiwan in September of this year, has become that country's highest grossing LGBT movie. The film revolves around two friends whose relationship evolves from a socially acceptable one (the film begins in 1987 when Taiwan was for the most part homophobic) into something more. In 1987 Taiwan had just had martial law lifted so many social liberties was just beginning to blossom. It was not until 2019 that same-sex marriage was allowed there. It still is the only Asian country to allow same-sex marriage. Your Name Engraved Herein premieres on Netflix on December 23, 2020.
