Don't know if anyone else was able to catch Bad Education on HBO yesterday. I thought it was a really good crime drama. It is based on real occurrences that takes place in a very highly ranked Tri-State school district. The district places many of its students in the most prestigious colleges year after year, which in turn causes the district's property values to soar. At the beginning of the film there are plans for the district to construct a "skywalk" at one of its schools. Hugh Jackman is the district's superintendent and as he usually is, he is slick and suave. It is since he has come to the district that this all has happened. At the same time there seems to be something about him that is not exact above board. All the women love him however. Allison Janney is Jackman's right hand woman. She is great and plays the sort of character she often plays: sarcastic and not quite up front. There are a few other characters that stand out. Geraldine Viswanathan is a student who is on the school's newspaper and has the assignment to write an article about the proposed skywalk. She thus has to look at many of the documents regarding the skywalk and others things in the school. Another actress I really enjoyed was Annaleigh Ashford for all her Tri-state trashiness. Ray Ramano plays the school board president who isn't exactly on top of things. Lastly, there are a couple of scenes involving Hugh Jackman that I was pleasantly shocked about. I am not going to described them. At any rate, I hope you watch it and enjoy it. Hugh Jackman and Geraldine Viswanathan Annaleigh Ashford
