Yesterday I watched a PBS documentary that I had recorded the night before. As the first few moments were being narrated I thought to myself, "OMG, this is now." It was about polio a disease that struck everyone and every place randomly. Even one of the most privileged people in the USA , Franklin Delano Roosevelt, could not escape its clutches. Roosevelt began a warm water clinic where other polio patients could be given treatment to attempt to recover from polio. Eventually Roosevelt asked his law firm partner, Basil O'Connor, to take control of the rehab clinic and to begin a campaign in order to secure funding to maintain it. Because the country was in the grips of the Depression attempts to get funds from the wealthy was not enough, so he reached out to the public who was now suffering the most from the epidemic and through various means asked for each person to send a mere 10 cents to the White House to fund a way to find a vaccine against Polio. I never really knew what the March of Dimes was but it arose from the thought that it was everyone, including the government, that had to work together to cure polio. I am sure that is true. But then the Americans miss out on good acting opportunities rather than just money making slots. Just watched Kelly MacDonald in Puzzle (2018)(second time). Faultless performance and although it is a "small" movie it has a wonderful cast. And in that movie you would never know she is Scottish and not American. Thanks so much for recommending Seven Seconds on Netflix. I find it really, really well done. Regina King (of Watchmen fame) is, as usual, amazing in her role. I had never seen the lead, Clare-Hope Ashitey, before and she is really great, very understated in her acting. She is also one of those British actors that you would never know is not an American. I find more British actors are able to do that than the other way around, i.e., American actors that can totally slip into British accents. I also really liked the Michael Mosley ("Fish") character because he is so capable of portraying a multi-layered but easily dislikable character. The plot is intriguing and a mystery but of a different kind because you know who the killer is from the beginning. The intrigue is whether he/she will be caught. I also appreciated the fact that many of the main characters were flawed in one way or another. I guess it made them more interesting and more realistic. There is one twist that I was glad was included. From the beginning I thought to myself, "Wouldn't be interesting if such and such?" And lo and behold it was added and becomes part of the plot. Finally, the series discusses many problems in society itself, e.g., as you say, police corruption and the inequality of race by police enforcement. At any rate, as you mention, the series is underrated and well worth a viewing.

I quit my Netflix DVD subscription for economic reasons a little while back. My sister was kind enough to put me as a user on her streaming Netflix subscription, While you definitely can get certain things the DVD subscription is so much better (I think). I had 500 DVDs in my queue and while a few you can get on streaming many you can't (particularly older movies directed by very established directors, like Rossellini, Visconti, Fellini, de Sica - that crowd). So I will do like you do. Go back to DVD subscription and keep my sister's offered link.

I had a personal trainer that I could take our public transportation system to (or walk if I wanted to be really good). He partially owns the gym we work out in and often it is just he and I working out. He stopped training everyone when our mayor imposed an order on gyms. I am trying to get him to restart because if we maintain the recommended distance and if he wiped equipment down as used there is little if no possibility of contracting the virus. I really miss our sessions because I like being able to exercise and I know that I would not do it on my own at home (plus my home is not big enough to really do so successfully). Also I have come to really enjoy the personal interaction he and I have developed and which you do not miss until it is gone. Unfortunately our mayor has closed the lakefront and adjacent parks so that walking is going to have to be done on the city streets. However that seems the next likely thing.

Because I have liked to rim so much partners have generally always assumed that I wanted to top, they became submissive, and never gave me the opportunity.
