Thanks! Milwaukee has Lake Michigan. San Francisco could use the Bay.

I believe San Francisco discharges the treated water into the ocean from its treatment plant near Lake Merced.

 

Milorganite is an amazing lawn fertilzer. You're not supposed to use it for food crops because of the heavy metal content. Another down side is that there is a faint odor of sewage for a few days after applying.

Oh, I remember THAT controversy. At one point, there was a push for Chicago to do something similar but that died when the heavy metal content of Milorgaite was brought up.
