It's Pride Weekend in San Diego, and I've noticed a lot of new ads on RentMasseur -- all visitors. And some of them seem more like escort ads - or maybe super erotic massages. And their rates just say, "Ask". I almost always just skip over the ad if it says "Ask" instead of stating a rate. I'm not sure why... I guess I just assume it's really an escort ad. Was wondering if anyone else feels the same way? Or maybe I should give the "Ask" crowd a try?

If you're interested in a masseur who lists "Ask" under rates, I would recommend contacting them. They might go that route for a variety of reasons (e.g., tiered pricing based on the type of the experience), but you won't know unless you ask. I get frustrated when I have to contact masseurs for basic info like rates, but I'm willing to do so if I find the rest of the ad appealing.

I've often been pleasantly surprised at the rates when I've asked. "Ask" doesn't necessarily mean expensive.

BTW any luck hiring this weekend? I've never had good luck connecting on a Pride Weekend. I don't even try. People are too busy.

I ask anyway so it’s not an issue for me. I agree with Balthazar that this is only natural when they list multiple types of massage, on rentmasseur for example.

When it comes to masseurfinder, I wrap this question in my initial inquiry about the availability, location, etc. by asking about the rates for different types of massage for 60 and 90 minutes. The answer typically gives you clues whether it’s strictly therapeutic, so I ask even though most ads there list the price. ;-)

PS. Sometimes I get a really curt answer that all the info is given in the ad, in which case I go silent. And laugh to myself because I got the info I wanted.

Masseurs that offer different sessions and different prices (erotic prices more than sensual) will usually just list it in their ad copy. They usually don't want to discuss it via text or on the phone. Any masseur that lists "Ask" is a major turn off for me. You have a price, so just post it. 95% of masseurs on Rentmasseur have their prices posted, so why don't these guys? I find it is kind of like a game....they will teasingly post "Ask" and charge what they feel like that day if you inquire. They also do it so you will contact them, and they can engage you and close the deal. I avoid those masseurs, and stick with the 95% that just list their prices.....keeps it simple and straightforward, as it should be.

If they do not list their prices I usually skip as well. If I have to reach out to you to ask just to find out you are at $200 an hour then it is a no for me anyway and I feel we have wasted each other time.

I generally don’t look at rates. If there is a provider I’m interested in I usually contact and let him know what kind of session I’m looking for and for how long Id like to book. If he confirms my requirements I then ask what his rate is.

I do this mainly so there are no surprises and no upsell during the massage which I find to be a huge mood killer.
