I just published a report on my second meeting with Fran, including an important update on his rate. As I cannot update the information on his fees reported in Daddy's Reviews, it is important that you read this post if you are planning on hiring him.

Could you share some of the rationale he (and others you have met) provided around the "foreigner premium" pricing? It is easy to refer to it as a "business model" but frankly it feels dishonest. When I go into a restaurant or book a hotel overseas, as far as I know they don't have a "foreigner premium"? It feels a little like they are taking advantage...in fact it feels a bit like a "tariff". Your insight would be appreciated.

if only we could all hold hands and sing "Kumbaya".....

it's not that complicated!!......foreigners have more money, presumably, and are subject to gouging in some transactions....especially when the rates in some countries are remarkably low.....a client isn't being forced into this......yeah, it seems dishonest, but it's not worth sweating over, I feel.......been going on for centuries.......take care of our fellow countrymen and to hell with the rich tourists.......I tough it out and realize it's part of the game.....I don't want to be an "ugly American"......and I can always politely say "no", too.....I wish it didn't happen, but it does......

As I very well explained in my post, there is nothing dishonest on his behalf. Clearly, the one trying to take advantage of others is me. I would say "us", but as you are probably a pure and generous soul I am sure you would never take advantage of anyone.

As I said, if you do not like it, move on. He is not for you.

Ouch. I guess I touched a nerve. I never claimed to be a "pure and generous soul" - was actually hoping to learn something; my question was more aimed at the concept behind this practice, than a criticism of this individual. But if it is really a case of he's doing it because he wants to that is fine. If that is all there is to it you have answered my question - thanks!

My apologies. Yes, of course you did touch a nerve. I am very much devoted to this hobby and therefore all the time confronted with my privilege. I always returned from these trips oversexed and oversensitive.

Then again, when traveling to some place like Brazil I do not recall paying a price different than what the gentleman would have gotten if he had been hired by a resident. I have never hired in Europe so maybe things might be different there although because their currency is close to American (Western European that is) it wouldn't matter much. It would be interesting to see if Central Europeans had a "foreign premium" hiring.

Maybe @tassojunior can comment - I believe he has traveled extensively in Europe...

In the Prague thread we note how the rates differ. For one thing they charge a much higher rate on Rentmen than on Romeo/Hunqz because RM is $100/mo while Hunqz is free. Plus most clients from Romeo are local while most from Rentman are American tourists. Also there's a big difference in local currency rates rather than Euro or Dollar rates. Normal rate in Prague is 3000 Czech Koruna ($120) up to 4000 ($160). But in Euros it's often E200 ($260). Even with exchange fees the Czech K rate is a bargain over Euros. In Zurich it doesn't matter much since a dollar and a Swiss franc are about equal. But the rate there is F150 because the guys handle more clients per day. In Germany rates are traditionally very low, often 100 Euro, so that affects Swiss rates too.

Since most of Europe is on the Euro, it doesn't really matter much unless you can get someone to take dollars instead of the same number of Euros (rare). But in countries with their own currency, the local currency rate is always lower than the Euro rate, and Hunqz is always lower than RentMan.

As a traveler to both Argentina and Brazil, the fee charged for us foreigners is different from locals when hiring from the net at escort sites. Since the fee is one that I can afford and much lower than in the US or in Western Europe-- I've never complained.

At the saunas in Brasil- the garotos' fee is low as well but sounds a lot to us because we're, for the most part, thinking in dollars (R$100 - R$150). Check out the exchange rate. Do the same for the Argentine peso: US vs and so forth.

In Barcelona most guys at that famous sauna change E50, but if you see them outside of the sauna, their fee ranges from E100/150 and upwards, depending on the guy and esp. if he has an ad at RM or at Huntz (Planet Romeo) or some other escort site.

...haven't engaged their services via an app.
