I would say that there are some situations in which deposits would be a good part of the deal. This includes this situation, where JimmyS seemed to be booking time in advance with someone who was flying in to see them.

Maybe JimmyS didn’t sponsor that flight- and that might makes the deposit less necessary.

But for us clients who enjoy bringing highly reputed escorts in from other states, deposits can be important.

Maybe when hiring a local provider for an hour or 2,, one should indeed not do a deposit.

But even locally, distance to get to me can often be a concern, and honest providers don’t want their time and gas money wasted. I at least Uber them to me, as an investment that signals my interest in meeting them (and also allows me to track their journey to me).

I also am pro deposit when hiring for overnights, even locally. - as these bookings often happen in advance, and providers often clear their schedules for these. It’s never great to flake last minute on someone who declined other lucrative opportunities for you- it’s money lost to them as well. And they may have even altered their diet for such an overnight appointment.

To be sure, there are bad actors out there, and for most situations where I hire, I don’t do deposits. But there are cases where I believe they are helpful.

I don’t want to spark another discussion on deposits here lol. But this JamesHeart person definitely ought to know that until he returns it his reputation will be soiled.

I suspect his account spontaneously deactivated because he received an initial ….. message about it 😉

I understand that a provider wouldn't want to fly-in to a destination without some security. I agree.

In this case it isn't clear if JimmyS was asking him to fly in or he was already heading to a destination and JimmyS was merely booking him while he was in town.

Although overall....I am personally always baffled by men who spend a LOT of money to meet complete strangers off the internet. I am always skeptical of what I'm going to find walking in the door based on an online profile alone. I personally would never book a provider for anything significant without having MET THEM IN PERSON at least once.

All agreeable points!

Personally, I mostly hire locally and rarely have a need to do deposits. I limit my searches on rentmen to those with:

1. At least 11 reviews.

2. Ratings of 4.7 or above.

3. Ability to do a facetime chat

4. Recent pics (excellent if verified)

For flyouts, I actually only have 4 guys who I keep in rotation lol. (But I hire them quite often). I rave about them occasionally here. But I made sure to get *direct* feedback from clients who hired them. Stellar reviews on RM as well as on here (company of men) are mandatory as well, and I have to get a trustworthy “feel” from the FaceTime.

This case with JamesHeart seems like a sad anomaly among individuals with good reviews. Maybe I will get flaked on one day indeed. I guess it’s the game we play. But I’m glad there is a mechanism (such as this site) for retribution against such behavior.

So let's rephrase the rule: JUST SAY NO TO DEPOSITS unless you have lots of discretionary funds for things like flying in out-of-towners, having overnights, like to flash cash around, and/or don't really care all that much if you lose a a couple of hundred simoleons.

I am with Pubic Assistance on this one.  (Admittedly, I do not fly guys from out of town into my city or do overnights.)  For local providers, I can see the need for a deposit if I am trying to book a day or two in advance, and I politely tell them that I don't do deposits but would be happy to connect right now if they are free.  So far, only one guy relented on the deposit policy for an immediate visit.  Bottom Line:  the default rate is too high to justify deposits, and there are still more than enough guys who do not require them (that may change of course).

I was recently burned by a provider that I sent a deposit to but it hasn't turned me off to the practice. I wouldn't send $250. But I'm generally open to $25-$50 depending on how much the total will be. I feel it's a reservation fee and having done this for 5 years and only been burned once, it seems most guys are legit. Caveat that I also check reviews and on here before I send on.

I have a similar experience lol!

I’m happy to hear you’ve mostly not had issues doing them (and probably has to do with the fact that you check reviews on RM and here as well) Same here!
