+ WilliamM
I thought your kids were all grown up, though. Do you share custody? ? Come. On, @marylander1940 Why would you ask a member about custody of children? Or wonder if his kids were all grown up? marylander1940
Well, bad on me for mentioning an aspect of my private life....I did not expect prying or questions regarding my family arrangements. Seems those are best left to my decision to reveal, not for others trolling for info. We all have posted things we wish we could take back. We can ask the mgt. to delete the whole exchange. I'm sure there are other single dads on here, I do remember a few posts on the subject by some frequent posters. Come. On, @marylander1940 Why would you ask a member about custody of children? if you don't like a post/thread, don't bump it. cany10011
I am not in the US and I was surprised by this thread. There were lots of shortages in NYC, but before i left last month, things are pretty much in stock now. No real shortages... just have to go to store earlier in the day to pick up wipes or paper towels. marylander1940

+ sam.fitzpatrick
I almost never buy something I can't see/touch/smell first, so I have never ordered delivery from a supermarket, and never will unless I become physically immobilized. In fact, for me physical shopping is part of the fun of buying things, so I have almost never bought anything online that I can shop for in person. Without going in person, how does one get a free lunch on Saturday by visiting all of the sample stations? marylander1940

Try the Kansas City Costco... not only they have $ 1.5 hot dogs available like in all stores but the samples are LARGE! A local DC escort who loves that city goes there for lunch unless he's busy with clients. Edited July 24, 2020 by marylander1940

DR FREUD
I will dance at your wedding if you tell me where I can get a can of lysol. I went to Publix this past Monday for my every 10 day shop. I have had Lysol and Clorox Wipes on my grocery list since early March. And low and behold, there they were. Was a pleasant surprise and made the trip very worthwhile. And low and behold, there they were. Was a pleasant surprise and made the trip very worthwhile. I was lucky at the beginning of June to get a container of Clorox wipes. Have not seen them on the shelf since then - I look every week at the grocery store and my local pharmacy. It's not just the wipes, I will also settle for the disinfecting spray if I can get it, but haven't seen those since March. Haven't seen wheat flour in a while - there is plenty of all purpose, self raising and corn flour, but no wheat. At least avocado's are no longer $2.99 each - they are now back to 75c. ? My N95 mask is due for replacement - I was able to find one at Ace Hardware; but it is the "undesirable" kind with the vent at the front that is used for construction. It will have to do. + Pensant
Up here on the island there’s virtually no Covid. We have lovely and well-stocked locally-owned stores with local provender, freshly-caught salmon and halibut and prime meats. I couldn’t be happier. samhexum
Grocery chains again limiting toilet paper, sanitizing wipes purchases It’s like springtime all over again amid the spiking coronavirus pandemic as shoppers try to flush out large supplies of toilet paper, paper towels and disinfecting wipes, according to a report. Several leading grocery chains are reimposing purchasing limits to prevent would-be hoarders from wiping them clean of the essentials, CNN reported. At Kroger, customers can buy a maximum of two such items, according to a spokesperson who told the network that the limits, which began this week, apply in stores and online. Meanwhile, Christopher Brand, a rep for the Northeast chain Giant, said the company was “seeing little evidence of stockpiling, and there is no need to create panic.” But since the supply chain “remains challenged,” Giant has set a limit of one on purchases of larger TP and paper towel sizes and four on smaller sizes, according to CNN. The San Antonio-based H-E-B, which has more than 340 stores across Texas, has recently implemented similar policies, including limits of two on purchases of disinfecting and antibacterial sprays, while other stores have limited toilet paper and paper towel purchases to two. About 19 percent of paper products and 16 percent of household cleaning products were out of stock during the week ending Nov. 1, according to market research company IRI. Nearly 60 percent of shoppers say they plan to stock up on the products again as winter approaches, according to a recent survey by market research firm Inmar Intelligence. The restrictions come as the US reported its highest number of new infections Thursday — at least 108,174, according to Johns Hopkins University. The US has recorded 9.6 million confirmed cases of the disease and more than 235,000 deaths.

+ FrankR
Toilet paper and paper towels are again being limited at local Cosco and supermarkets so I also ordered online at Cosco, Walmart and Staples so I'm getting well stocked. No sign of this in my local store in Manhattan. Went shopping earlier this morning and the shelves were fully stocked with no signs or notices indicating any limits. I will keep an eye out and see if I spot any during the week. I have spotted a few weird shortages over the past few months, but not sure if it is COVID related. For example, when I tried to get my hands on shredded coconut last week they were out. Have not seen sunflower seeds in the baking isle in a while. Avocado's are still rather expensive. ?♂️

+ sniper
Some stores have quietly moved the wipes behind the customer service desk to prevent hoarding. You might try going there and asking. KeepItReal and MikeBiDude
rvwnsd
My local Safeway and Target were both wiped out of toilet paper and paper towels. I still have two and a half packages from the three I bought over the summer, so I am good.
