Recently posted by a person in the medical community about their family Christmas gathering…

18 people.

All adults triple vaxxed and all family PCR negative 2-3 days prior.

All family members antigen negative Christmas Morning.

1/2 way into Christmas Day one adult gets chills and immediately leaves.

3 days later. 17 out of 18 are sick. All 17 PCR positive.
None severely ill, but some moderately ill with bad sore throats. 
Severity of disease does not appear to stratify to previous risk factors.
(e.g. the 90+ year old with end stage renal disease just got a cough).

Lessons learned:
Vaccination doesn’t stop the spread of Omicron.
Swabbing doesn’t stop the spread of Omicron. 
Vaccination appears to prevent severe disease.

It now seems nasal swabs don't work well for Omicron testing of any sort, only throat swabs; and only nasal testing works for Delta.
