Enronnja
Not that it matters, but if you go to New York and filter by orientation, there are so many who now identify as bisexual. What changed all of a sudden?

pubic_assistance
Bisexuality was denied for decades as merely being the gateway to gay. Finally people are more conscious of the category..so providers are marketing themselves as "straight" or bisexual toward men who don't see themselves as part of the gay community, but are still physically attracted to certain men. That's not necessarily the same thing. Additionally, I push back against the change being a sign of progression, just as I would push against someone one else who'd claim it's a regression. If the shift is happening, It's simply change, neither good nor bad. + sync
I believe it's just marketing strategy. There are indications that many potential clients are willing to expand their price-point limits for time with a straight/bi provider. I've noticed the same trend on the Flirt4Free site. + BenjaminNicholas, EZEtoGRU, CaliMuscle and 5 others 1

Gay providers know they open up more hiring opportunities if they market themselves as bi. + keroscenefire
I identify as pan/bi. For me, it's more of a phasal thing. In high school I had a thing with another "straight" male friend. Then in college through my 20s, I pretty much exclusively dated and had sex with women. Then after a long-term relationship with a woman ended, I ended up dating and hooking up more with guys. I think some providers are similar. This one bi provider I talked to once got into having sex with guys basically because he was in a dry spell with the ladies and a gay friend of him jokingly said he could get laid whenever he wanted on Gridr. So he actually downloaded it and got a blow job basically within an hour. Then he sort of realized he's just a very sexual person and he can just kind of have sex and be turned on by anyone. He likes that gay guys are more sexually available than women, who according to him anyway, he has to date and do a whole bunch of work to have sex. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of bi guys are similar. MikeBiDude, caramelsub, + Vegas_Millennial and 3 others 4 1

+ Vegas_Millennial
I asked a Top escort I hired, who describes himself as Bisexual on RentMen, his sexual preference. His explanation was he really likes anal sex, because it is so much tighter than the vagina (I'll take his word on that). Because most women aren't agreeable to anal sex, he therefore has more sex with men. + purplekow
I had sex almost exclusively with women up until age 50. (Blow job in car from a guy who paid me to let him do me and a frot session with a friend in college when we were drunk. are the exceptions.). After my wife died, I found dating women and the expectations of a relationship was too emotionally taxing. I wanted sex, but was not ready for a relationship. So I tried female escorts. They were expensive, and not very convincing or satisfying as lovers. Accommodation rather than passion. So rather than just be celibate or have to work on a relationship, I went through a gay escort site. Initially I was hesitant so I went through a site in which there were about 400 thumbnail photos. Only three men held interest for me. Two of those were near enough to my location to try. So, as an experiment, I arranged to hire one. Turns out, getting blown by a man was just as rewarding as getting blown by a woman and there was no fuss, just muss. Over the almost 20 years I have been hiring men, I have expanded my activities. I occasionally have sex with women. Usually as a result of being set up by friends. At this point, I do not label myself, rather, I just enjoy sex with people with whom I want to have sex and who are willing to have sex with me. If anyone asks, which they have not, I would tell them I have sex when I can, with whom I can and then ask why they want to know. jeezifonly
I think that announcing one’s sexual identity is useful only to the individuals with whom they would want to have sex. I don’t care who people find attractive for sex or for long-term bonding, providing children aren’t part of the equation, and that they actively support all candidates and legislation that maintains equality for all under the law. In escorting, especially for male clients, it can be both a hint at what might be possible, and a boundary for what they won’t do once the meeting has begun. Personally I’ve never had that fantasy of being the one guy who can get the hetboy into bed… but as many do have that fantasy, claiming Bi may appeal to them and that scenario. pubic_assistance
allyouknow
Ultimately the goal is to understand that the binary was not accurate. The coming result is going to be " I am going to love who I love, have sex with another consenting adult and it doesn't define me- the consenting adult being the only thing that matters..." + DrownedBoy
Others here already answered the question for RentMen providers - marketing. I don't think it's so much for straight females as an attempt to signal different things. It's been so varied, but generally I find bisexuals are less likely to bottom or kiss. Also, they tend to market themselves as more "masculine," even though I've hired "bisexuals" that were definitely totally gay, * * * The "bisexual" label in the general population is different. Among younger people, it's become almost "cool" to claim to be bisexual, even if they're totally straight. Sorry, but kissing a member of the same sex once while you're in high school doesn't make you bi.

Enronnja
So, they are basically marketing a fantasy. But I also noticed, more and more of these guys are defaulting to verse tops leaning more top. I remember a golden era of exclusive bottoms. 30somethingsexybear and Wanderoz 1

Sadly that IS my story. I had a few gay friends in high school. ( Closeted mostly ..this was the 80s in middle America ) Wasn't attracted physically to any of them. All were a bit on the effeminate side and some quite twinky/skinny/effeminate. Not my type at all. I only wanted the fit/muscular boys on the wrestling team...but assumed that was very much NOT an option ! ( Years later one of my teammates came out of the closet after 20 years of marriage ) and confessed to me that he had performed oral sex on half the wrestling team !! 😲 To this day, I am still jealous that I didn't have the nerve to make that move. So I do find myself attracted to guys who lean very sporty/masculine without a whiff of anything that might set of someone's "gaydar".
