+ DrownedBoy
When I've considered escorts who charge that much, they're often so busy and full of themselves that they don't pay attention or care too much about a single customer. Not the kind of attitude I hire for. I'm waiting for the recession to finally hit. I thought 300 was too high prior to the pandemic, and with inflation I think it's much more fair. This is an unregulated market with a very low barrier to entrance. Just pay what you want, reject prices you think are too high, and wait for supply and demand to kick in. + jessmapex, LostUpstate, Pd1_jap and 4 others 4 1
harlow
That particular provider’s price is $400 because that’s what they feel they’re worth and because someone is willing to pay it. I will never complain about a provider’s rates. If I’m willing to pay it that it’s my choice…just like I have the same choice to move on to someone else in my budget. 56harrisond, acks0104, Njguy2 and 10 others 3 5

I also agree that 400 is more than i would ever spend. my 2 cents: if you are passing for price, let the provider know VERY POLITELY why, so they know. Just a quick “sorry, too high” without haggling. So they know they lost your business. I’ve done this many times. One escort said his overnights were $1,800, and were from 10 pm to 6 am. When I told him his price was a little on the higher end—and that those hours wouldn’t work—as I like to have dinner first, have some fun at home, sleep for at least six hours, and slowly wake up to more “fun”, he quickly changed his tune to $1,200 and more acceptable overnight hours. When I asked why the change, he said the first price and hours were for guys that like to stay up all night and fuck around (and do meth perhaps). Once he heard how easy I liked it, he changed. I’ve also noticed several escorts from Central and South America have weird overnight expectations and hours. One wanted like $1,500 for six hours AND a hotel. I told him this is an O-V-E-R-N-I-G-H-T. You spend the night with me, and go home in the morning for that kind of price. You don’t leave in the middle of the night and go to a hotel. I’ve had great providers back in the days of Craigslist and Backpage that were far superior to some of the ones that charged over $300. Even today, there’s no correlation to how much they charge to how much is delivered. 100% agree. I've never found price to be a good indicator of service level at all in this industry. I'm not talking about personal preferences either since chemistry plays a large role in that. I'm talking communication, punctuality, honesty, hygiene, meeting duration...... One would expect the $400/hour escorts to excel in those areas but that is often not the case so I'm left wondering why I should be paying a premium for the same (or lower) service as the $200/hour escort. + jessmapex, DWnyc, coriolis888 and 3 others 2 2

+ jessmapex
I wouldn't mind spending $400 an hr if the escorts on RM were truly hot and provided good experience. While I have met a few guys here and there worth that much, most of them have been disappointing. The hottest RM profiles are usually fake. To be honest the best guys (look-wise and otherwise) I have met were str8/bi guys who advertised on Craigslist back in the day. kingsley88, coriolis888, JUWS and 4 others 5 1

Their rates is what they feel they are worth afterall. We should respect that. If you don't like it just move on. I'm sure someone else will be willing to pay for the amount sooner or later. Selling sexual favors should not be compared to other services. It's a risky activity AND illegal. Not everyone is mentally prepared for that. The idea of going to bed with a stranger for money is something not many are able to digest. It can be traumatizing for many even. Speaking of New York, this city hasn't been the same since the pandemic. So many ran out areas in the center of Manhattan. It also feels like every corner smells like homeless piss. I was on 34th street this morning in the west side and the odor was obnoxious. The homeless have ruined this city. What you’ve written about sounds like a $250 an hour provider to me which is why you get what you pay for. How wrong can one be! Just because a provider raises his rate to $400 or $500 (or more) does not mean that the provider suddenly knows how to change his inconsiderate and greedy way of dealing with clients. A price increase does not make a product more valuable. You were lucky if you found an over-priced provider change his inconsiderate behavior to refrain from name calling clients ("time waister" clients), no shows, late arrivals, early departure. The OP presumably understands that there is a free market where people and businesses can charge what they wish, he's just wondering out loud, is there a point, maybe at $400 maybe higher, where the provider is just basically saying, fuck you? I haven't read this thread too closely, but I think people who argue that people can charge for escorting, or whatever, whatever they wish and people either will or will not pay it, are being, perhaps deliberately, pre-collegiate in their arguing. Yes, we all know that, free market etc. But is there an amount where it's clear that the provider just doesn't really give a fuck about you, about what is "reasonable"? Or, is there absolutely no "reasonable"? MikeBiDude

Some people would pay > $400 because that gives them access to something others can’t afford. It gives the client exclusivity, they can tell themselves they’re worth it. So for that client it’s not so much ‘fuck you’ (although of course literally it will be fuck you) but more like ‘fuck those who can’t afford what I can afford’. It’s similar with buying expensive watches, cheap watches also tell the time perfectly adequately but the expensive one gives the buyer the cachet of being special. The difference in quality of watch certainly doesn’t justify the price differential but it does keep out the hoi polloi!
