ICTJOCK
So I'm curious from any clients out there that have opinions on providers that may give a bad initial impression. I mean, I think we all know you need to show up to an appointment or booking on time and prepped accordingly. I have heard clients tell me that they don't want any cologne or hairspray. A number of things. Just curious as to things you may find offensive or "off putting" when it comes to providers and their approach. marylander1940
Guest
I've had a couple that have smelled of cigarettes or weed and one that was clearly off his face on drugs. Another was on a comedown from a weekend of partying. I like to ask providers to not use antiperspirant or aftershave (after showering of course) because I want to appreciate them in their natural state, not tasting of chemicals. There's nothing worse than sliding your tongue up the side a guys abdomen, around his chest, up towards his armpit only to be confronted with a thick layer of chemicals ending up in your mouth. Most folks think what they like is mainstream and that might not be the case. Specific requests based on fetishes should be made in a respectful way. At the same time beware of clients who come up with a list of dos' and don't because they might be hard to please or just difficult. nate_sf
Though the question is directed at clients, I'll echo the request from clients to not wear antiperspirant. This is probably the most common request I get from clients, so nowadays before an appointment I'll shower so I'm clean, but don't apply antiperspirant or cologne. Some clients request smelling stinky, but most just want clean but not scented. + robear, Simon Suraci, + Pensant and 8 others 8 1 1
+ azdr0710
the basics are pretty obvious.....be very clean, sharp, "all there", sober, friendly, relaxed, calm and collected...... I also don't like cologne, antiperspirant, floral scents, etc.....please just be soaped up and rinsed off..... if walking thru a hotel, public space, lobby, be discreet and low-key....no crazy clothes.....don't draw attention to yourself..... talk slowly and just hang out like a good buddy..... + Pensant, marylander1940, Medin and 7 others 7
Ali Gator
Lately, I have had many providers (both escorts and masseurs) with very bad breath. When questioning them in a friendly manner (not bringing up the subject of their breath) I find out they have been eating at local Asian restaurants (Thai, Korean, Vietnamese) and the odors stay on their breath and on their bodies. (One guy stunk of garlic and lemongrass). They are not scents which I find sexy nor appealing in any way. Please brush your teeth and use mouthwash ! liubit, BonVivant, TorontoDrew and 6 others 4 3

Guest
Only time I've ever had to offer a guy mouthwash was when I went a bit to hard on the back of his throat and he made a mess lol Man, I love doing that to guys. Minty. Fresh. Tingly. TorontoDrew

Bad breath due to recently consumed food can mostly be cured with tooth brushing, flossing and, if necessary, using mouthwash. There is no curing bad breath due to a serious dental problem, though, apart from getting the tooth taken care of by a dentist. Mouthwash will mask the offensive odor momentarily, but not for long if someone has serious decay in their mouth.
+ purplekow
One way to score some points with me with a simple gesture is to pick up the tab for a meal or some other expense. It does not have to be extravagant, even just buying coffee or paying for a taxi is likely to leave me inclined to add a tip which more than covers the expense. I have really appreciated an excort calling on the way to our meeting and asking if there is something he can pick up. Again, not extravagant, just thoughtful. It starts the entire meeting off on a positive note. As I tend to hire regulars, this kind of consideration need not be for each encounter but when it happens it does add friend to the boy friend experience. It wasn't because of tooth decay because he had dentures and was meticulous about maintaining them. In his case it was these things called tonsil stones, which I believe are bits of food that get stuck in the tonsils and get covered in layers and layers of bacteria. His mouth smelled like a sewer, which was sad because he was always nice to talk to. You just had to sit far enough away.
dbar123
I once showed up to see a provider with a stack of 20’s that I left on the dresser before the session. He immediately picked the stack up and slowly counted it. I thought that move was in bad taste. dbar123
One other off putting thing is when the provider shows up wearing older dingy white underpants. Guest
So far my biggest turn offs come during the booking process. Lots of male escorts just kind of have bad attitudes and salesmanship and it keeps money in my pocket. These are the big turn offs. 1) Poor communication. This is an issue with men and general but becomes more apparent when money is involved. I hate asking a question or writing a few sentences in a text and only getting "ok" as a response. 2) Poor planning/scheduling. Part of this is bad communication but also part of this is guys being inconsistent and hard to nail down. I seek out escorts as a timing thing, I don't want to waste time on apps dealing with flakes. I have a busy life and plans/things come up all the time so I need to make plans so I can create time and space. Booking an escort just requires answering a few questions. It can take five minutes if everyone communicates clearly and is up front. Then you just have to stick to that. 3) Moving goalposts / Info Drip. Sometimes I book an escort and it comes down to negotiate and the escort keeps coming up with some new information. It is like "I charge $xxx is that ok" and I'll say "yes that sounds good I am interested" and then they'll be like "and I need you to do xyz" and I say "I am fine with xyz" and then they'll say "ok and then you'll have to do abc" and after a while I just get ground down by the decision fatigue and move on. If all of this was just in the add or discussed up front in the first few texts we could get it all done quickly and I won't get exhausted before we get to the important questions. Basically, make it a seamless process and make it easy for your clients. Don't make your clients chase you or work to see you. Treat it like a business and realize there is a client management side to it.

We established a nice rapport via SMS. Then, as the day approached, he said that he was worth more than he quoted. I told him that I wasn’t comfortable with the new rates and he proceeded to lose it, accusing me of being cheap and telling me that he would blacklist me in his town. I simply cut him off after he tried to call me twice. Silly drama. MikeBiDude, HoseMaster, + nycman and 1 other 2 1

When in fact it’s precisely because you’re serious that you’re planning it. I plan everything in my life. Only the “not serious” do I just do spur of the moment. So the very fact that I’m making plans means I’m serious…Too many escorts want that fast buck, like a clerk at the gas station, but want the respect of a salaried worker, like a CEO or president of the board. I believe the better way to put this is they expect the benefits of running a business without having to act like a businessman. I understand what providers/escorts deal with. There are flakey guys and fantasy bookers. When you get a guy asking questions about a potential future booking it has the potential to waste your time. However, on the other hand you have escorts complaining when clients expect them to be ready at a moments notice. It doesn't help that male escort ads are very short on information. They don't mention their preferred method of contact or any booking procedures laid out. I'm forced to ask a bunch of vague questions about an unspecified booking because the ad doesn't mention anything about when the guy is available, whether he prefers hosting or traveling, what his donation is or how he wants to be contacted. Then the process of asking all the questions gets drawn out and by the end of it I am so exhausted and turned off I just stop texting. Realistically if this is how they are on the phone how are they going to be in bed?
