GAY VIDEO AWARDS- REPORT BACK PLEASE

Did anyone attend the Gay Video Awards? How was it and how were the parties afterwards? I understand that Scott Matthews had an orgy and I'm sure Chi Chi LaRue gave everyone a run for their money.

 

If you went, fill us in with the details. Maybe a Male4Malescorts table would be a good idea next year!

Gay Video Awards

 

Didn't go to any of the after parties but with the exception of a few highlights these awards sort of sucked. But then sometimes a few highlights are enough. Lukas Ridgeston (making his first American visit) and Johan Paulik were dfefinitely one of those highlights. These boys are definitely as good as it gets. Looking incredibly fresh, young and INCREDIBLY hot, they were a nice contrast to some of the other boys (?) that looked like they had been around the block one too many times. Lukas and Johan were also REALLY polite and down to earth and the special Belami compilation tape that George Duroy made for the evening was awesome. Jeff Palmer also looked totally hot and the way he was flirting was making everyone really want it. There was a dance number at the beginning done by the boys from Remington's from Toronto that was sort of cool too.

 

And I guess that should be enough but otherwise the evening sort of sucked. Tickets were expensive ($225.) and the show which was supposed to start at 7:30 didn't begin until 10. Everybody (including the stars) were also kept waiting outside until 8:30 before anyone was let in...and then it was REAL slowly by rude doormen...at those prices they could have at least let people in on time so they could get a drink and at least be inside the lobby rather than a cold windy parking lot for an hour. The AVN guys who put on the show are clearly a total disaster when it comes too logistics or caring about the guests. But then I guess it's not the Academy Awards and just having a few moments taling with Lukas Ridgeston and Jeff Palmer did sort of wash away most of the bad parts of the evening.

I agree the dinner was a logistical disaster! However, I was very impressed by the porn star turn out. I've been to several similar events over the past few years -- and couldn't believe how many porn stars that attended this year. My table was not near the stage -- and we had two nominees seated at our table. One was nominated for Newcomer of the Year and the other was a woman nominated for a non-sexual role (obviously).

 

Once I got in (with the help of a couple of drinks) I forgot about the early evening disaster and was happy looking at all the stars. (A friend of mine reports that Jeff Palmer sucked him off in the hotel bathroom, by the way.)

Thanks for the insight into the awards dinner. Do you both attend yearly? Also, if someone wants to work in the "adult entertainment business" as a director, business manager. etc. who do they get their foot in the doorm as opposed to their...

I'd like to buy a table for next year's show.

 

I offered this year, but had no takers. However, I admit I was late and as it turned out, I could not make it due to previous commitments.

 

I think it would be fun for the M4Mer's to be sitting together, espcially if we could get Lukas Ridgeston too sit UNDER THE TABLE....aw, heck, I'd be happy to breath the same air as him.

 

Thanks to the posters who filled us in. I'll be happy to hear what others have to say, too, but lets make plans to pitch in a snag a table or two next year. We'll just show up late or bring our own refreshments to get us through the wait-time.

 

And I'll personally pay for Skeptic's ticket.

Where are you? Did you ever make it to NYC? After reading all this heinous threads of sightings all over the USA, etc. I've had this fear you would be going down the Hudson, and not in a good way!

I'm doing fine, thank you. I've had some family issues I've been dealing with so I haven't made it to New York yet.

 

As for the stuff you read about me here, it's mostly fabricated.
