Absolutely incredible. We were on a mountain top and watched the shadow race toward us from 100 miles away. 2028 in Australia anybody??!! 1 hour ago, Luv2play said: What time of the day was that? And Sydney is in the band of totality but near its southern edge, a bit further north at say Newcastle would be closer its centre. The path of the eclipse will be from the NW, moving to the south-east of the country. I've seen (well experienced) one, 200km south of Canberra, in the mid-seventies. It was overcast, but you certainly knew it was happening, and the 'shadow' of totality was still obvious. SlimJim
+ José Soplanucas
One of the highlights of today's eclipse for me was witnessing the teens at my school diverting their attention away from their phones. It was truly refreshing to see them engaged in something beyond their screens. + Italiano, thomas, marylander1940 and 2 others 2 2

marylander1940
I watched the 2017 eclipse in Kentucky, it got completely dark and it was beautiful. The partial eclipse I was able to see today in DC wasn't as impressive, but it the sunlight got hazy, and the temperature went down a few degrees. Amazing! + WilliamM

Just Chuck
I shot this one from my property. I bought an extra pair of eclipse glasses, cut it apart and taped a lens over my iPhone's lens. marylander1940, BSR, thomas and 2 others

jeezifonly
The thrill of watching an enormous, years-in-advance and detailed scientific prediction come true before our very eyes, thousands of people at a time. I saw the Corona eclipse last October in Albuquerque. That will have to hold me. MikeBiDude, marylander1940 and samhexum 1 1

BuffaloKyle
I have noticed so many people in the media, especially on my sports talk shows I watch, wondering why people were so into this. Honestly it's all about being in the path of totality.
