Johnrom
There’s an old expression “ Cash is king! “. No worries about tech glitches or hacking. Most ATMs will let you withdraw 1k a day. So just hit up an ATM before a session. Most providers will appreciate that! Simple and easy. No fuss no muss. + DrownedBoy, BeamerBikes and + Vegas_Millennial 1
Whippoorwill
Thirty-plus years ago I had a work colleague who always kept a $100 bill in his wallet. He was originally from Brooklyn, and he said it was in case he was robbed, and if he had less than $100, they would kill him. + Charlie
+ DrownedBoy
I checked the stats - last year, only 18% of all transactions were made by cash. However, I've studied this area, and cash is a preferred payment among people with lower incomes, etc. We can't go cashless without knocking out a good segment of the population. That, and I can't believe Americans would accept watching every cent they spend end up in a database somewhere. + Vegas_Millennial and + APPLE1
Johnrom
It’s true. There are places where merchants want to do everything electronically. But they are passing laws in some states and localities to require merchants to accept cash from those people, mostly low income, who do not use banks. + Vegas_Millennial, MikeBiDude and + DrownedBoy
+ Charlie
I can't imagine paying other single-service people (dog walker, tree trimmer, etc.) with anything but cash, so why would I feel differently about paying an escort? I do pay my regular gardener and my house cleaner with a check, but I am sure that they would prefer cash, because it usually takes them a long time to cash the check (and they would be flummoxed if I handed them a credit card). However, the other day I stopped at the post office with a letter, because I didn't know how much postage it needed, and as I stood at the window, I suddenly thought, "Damn! I forget to carry any cash." No problem: the USPS will take a credit card payment for a stamp. + Vegas_Millennial, Johnrom, + APPLE1 and 1 other
manorbrown
I used to pay cash all the time, but now that I'm an "older gentleman" I don't like carrying around large amounts of cash. Also, in the US city I live in, there was a recent rash of gay men getting robbed of large sums of money by "escorts". I get the electronic signature issue with Cash Apps but I'm single and my kids are adults/out of the house...not overly concerned about someone "finding out".... + Vegas_Millennial and + DrownedBoy
