And there shouldn’t be - known to have dangerous combo effects with some substances (eg G)

Well, yes. The few PNPs experiences I've been part of were not with junkies. They knew what they were doing. I know that many here are skeptical, but my experience tells me that there are many users of chem sex who do not go down the route of addiction, descontrol, and death.

Let's not use the word "junkie." I've known many good people who ended up with substance abuse issues. The current thinking is that addiction is caused not by the substance but by the social and psychological circumstances of the user. That's why people who are healthy, well-adusted, and have strong social ties can have surgery, use oxycontin for a few days or weeks, and then never think about it again. However, if you have unaddressed trauma, low social ties, extreme stress and other factors, you can become dependent.

Johan Hari's book "Chasing the Scream" is an incredible historical look at addiction. The short version is criminalization makes everything worse.

My apologies. I should have chosen my words more carefully.

There is also a medical aspect - some addiction is physical where the body craves something and will react accordingly to the point of potentially shutting down if needs not met (this is the kind mothers can pass on to unborn kids). Other addiction is likely more mental and easier to hide (and treat).

Different PnP substances (and sometimes the manner of consumption) can affect the body and mind differently.
