Market days lame

Market days was past this weekend and a lot of guys were here in Chicago. The problem was a lot of guys I was trying to make an appointment didn't reply back. All of sudden on yesterday and today my phone full of messages by those guys asking if I want to make a appointment even do they left Chicago. It already to late. What the point of posting your profile in Chicago if you are not seeing any clients. That don't make no sense. Here are the lames texting me late.

Who already left Chicago, you or them? Did you wait until the event already was in full swing before attempting to see these guys? It's unfortunate that you weren't able to have any of them pan out, but some wiser planning on your part could've prevented it from being a lame experience.

Agreed. At the least, I don’t think any of them ought to be publically shamed lol

Now @Jostar!!  You know better by now than to try to set up meetings during the chaos of a major event!  I don't think your 'post of shame' is a reflection  of the providers' reliability. I'll bet they each received many many dozens of inquiries.

😂

I understand what you are saying but it so simple to say am not available. In which they can't take a minute to text that. Why text me so late. And i text them on advance. Clearly they are not professional. Like I said, if they are not looking for clients don't post your profile

I text them early before market days and I live in Chicago. These guys left Chicago and asking me late if I wanna make appointment with them but it too late. Why ask that. If I ask in advance.

Collectively, they're looking for the last-minute highest bidder. I'd avoid them for good. Whoever they hooked up with was likely with one of the other people you listed - donation free, of course.

Yeah you are right. Definitely not hiring guys on pride and market days no more. Go for slow days

The same thing often happens in Las Vegas - they will plan a trip to Vegas for fun with friends like everyone else, and weeks before they arrive, they will put in their ad that they will be in Vegas on certain dates - but once they arrive, they start partying and hanging out with their friends and they will not respond to any inquiries, let alone actually meet.

You are exactly right. Seems like they don't wanna make money.

Different strokes for different folks… Sanic is on my list!

Don't bother with that guy. He was texting late night yesterday. His texting came of as a arrogant jerk. Talking about he all that and complaining about his student loan debt. I don't understand why complain in which you could be making money and take this seriously. Sadly you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink

Sidebar: Is there a right time to hire if you don't have a provider booked as your companion for the entire voyage?

Companion for the entire voyage? Will the provider be “loyal” to you for the voyage or go off and carouse and enjoy on your dime?

I don't bother hiring during big events in the city, gay or not.

I too saw quite a few visiting faces for Market Days, but when I contacted a no-review newbie and he quoted me 350, I didn't bother contacting the others.

Plus, trying to schedule across both personal things and providers is a hassle that weekend, and I bet a lot of other Chicago gays thought the same.

This is why big gay events and this hobby don’t go well together. I avoid the “gay pride” weekends. Too crowded. Too busy.

Absolutely. Montreal had its Pride this last week culminating in the parade on Sunday. A lot of my regulars flocked there. I avoided it.

As an airbnb host with properties within walking distance to market days, I always sort of dread the weekend.  Even thought it is nice to see all the pretty boys, I always have at least 2-3 messy gays with drama that leads to all sorts of issues for me.  And I always have to go in advance of the cleaning crew to make sure they won't be upset.  This year, in about 20 properties, people left behind a lot of stuff that included a really nice shower shot, 3 incredibly tacky lace jockstraps, the largest bottle of poppers I have ever seen, and an entire Jeep full of sheets that were so bad I did not want the housekeepers to deal with them so I did it myself.  I managed to not find one of those black ball shaped douche things....which the ladies apparently thought was used for ear cleaning, as it was in the lost and found log as 'limpiador de oidos'

This year at least two of my properties were occupied by male performers who escorted all weekend.  I recognized one guy when he booked and knew what was about to go on, so I put a waterproof mattress pad on the bed and left a pile of extra towels and bed linens.  The guy living directly above the other unit called me late on Sunday, just to let me know an escort was in residence and had seen at least 20 people since he arrived on Friday and he feared that the bed was going to break and was just about done listening to 'fake moans of delight' and constant showers using all the hot water.

Just the idea of 20 people in a 48 hour period makes my penis hurt...I do not know how a person can do that and really doubt the guys are getting a good time.

I sorta go back to the original posting and have to ask the question, why put up an ad in any city (regardless of an event happening or not) and then not respond or take clients.   It would take more hands than I have to count the number of times that I texted a provider and then quite some time later (sometimes after they left sometimes while still in town) saying "Sorry I am not seeing any clients on this trip" or "I am doing collabs and can't take clients".  Or they do a quick response and then go into "Ghost" mode.   If you are not interested in business, dont advertise...put your profile "on hold".

It is frustrating.  Just my couple of pennies.
