Women at gay men's strip clubs

Recommended Posts

Not until around 10-ish years ago have there been the "invading" of the fun of the crowd-goers for strippers who are intentionally geared for an audience of a specific sex. While "men are welcome" to strip shows like "The Men of Playgirl", "Thunder from Down Under", etc., the intended target of the entertainment is just for women.

Now, I'm seeing the reverse with women essentially just by being in the crowd, turning gay men away from wanting to go to places like Stock Bar to see men dancing for what used to be only men.

In the past, there were ZERO men at Chippendale's shows, and ZERO women at Bodybuilder Jams. The crowd had a great time, and each sex didn't think twice about "wanting to be there, too - that's not fair!" Now, I can't even go to a male thong swimwear event that's been going on for many, many years since all of a sudden there's women crying foul that it's sexist and unacceptable, blah blah.

Nowadays, you'll see babies in strollers in bars, and non guide dogs inhaling casino smoke next to their evil owners. Now I'm the one crying about what I find unacceptable in public these days!

Thank God that Johnson's in Florida strictly enforces the entry requirements and behavior of its female customers (each female must be escorted by a male, and no "woo-hoo"s or cat calls).  It makes for a much better gay speakeasy business.  Remember to give Johnson's your patronage, although they are packed most weekends so visit early in the week!

Johnson's Fort Lauderdale maybe but Tampa has really relaxed that "rule" and groups of women are becoming increasingly common.

In Florida, a woman sued for discrimination for being denied entry into a straight strip club. Hopefully Johnson's doesn't get hit with the same problem in the future. There are workarounds for the clubs:

If they want an all-men environment, they can go the route of the old Unicorn Club in Indianapolis and become a membership-only establishment. You pay for the membership on the spot (essentially a cover), they give you a card and you write down your info. It's all a silly formality, but it worked. I'd imagine with digital memberships, it could be even easier and more profitable now.

If you don't want to remove an income source and want to include some women, you can legally do Happy Hours and Men's Night's in many states, like Illinois, where men don't have to pay a cover charge. They would have to charge full cover at least one day a week, and it's probably best to do it on a slow weeknight. They can also do what the old Remington's in Toronto did, and make your upper level men-only.

Sooner or later someone with free time will test this "requirement" and it will be gone. (as Montreal) Pretty sure the women that sued the STUD in Montreal was awarded $50K for her trouble. #civilrights

Time to start playing rough gay porn on tv in the background... With men getting fisted... And a TV near the ladies room with women tied up and getting gangbanged.  First Amendment rights to free speech.  Just make the women uncomfortable for them to hang there with their friends.  That's what's I've observed at several gay bars around the world that have been able to remain men only by simply making it uninviting for women (most Eagles, the Diesel, bars in Amsterdam, etc.).

A bar in Wilton Manors wanted to install only men's restrooms, but the building codes required a separate bathroom with toilets only, no urinals.  So, the owner simply installed the toilets, but removed all the seats and put in no dividers between the toilets.  Presto!  A giant 2nd bathroom for stand-up pissing only.  The only toilets for sitting are in the standard men only restroom, and still don't have privacy doors.

For gay guesthouses, I'm noticing a few are putting pictures of nude men in the rooms and in the lobby at check-in, often in having gay sex.  They can't deny renting a room to females, but they can make it uncomfortable for them.

Campus in Montreal allows women, but women guest who by a lap dance have a separate women-only area, which is brightly lit, recorded with cameras from several angles, is in full view of the floor and not behind any curtain or door, and females must sit with their hands by their side and not touch the dancer.  It's portrayed as for "women's safety in the #MeToo era", to avoid accusations by the women of sexual harassment from the dancers.

I just don't feel comfortable with women in gay spaces...

Why not ?
This whole thread is baffling to me.

Are a lot of you guys in the closet ?

I thought the goal of the gay (LGBT..xyz...) movement was INCLUSION 🤔

It sounds like a lot of you want it both ways. YOU want to be "included" but you don't want straight people to be included the same.

Swinging Richards used to get a lot of bachelorette party business, which annoyed the gay clientele immensely.  The women would be noisy and end up monopolizing the dancers' attention.

I like that Swinging Richards had a men-only VIP area.  Pay $20 admission, and you get to sit in your own room with several nice dancers and a pole, and access to the backside of the bar, and quick access to private rims.  All for men only!  Once I discovered this, I never spent time in the co-ed area again.

Who should we kick out next?

Customers who touch but don't tip.

Customers who get up on the stage and try to dance with the performers.

Customers who make a scene and accuse the bartender of putting a ruffie in her drink because she is so hot.

Customers who take pictures within the strip club.

Exactly!  This is a wrong move.  The writing was on the wall when the she's switched the order of the letters and put the L up front.  I'd be surprised if G and B even make it into the next rendition of arrangement of letters.

It is a sexual space. Like a locker room or bathroom, some of us are simply uncomfortable sharing them with women.

Do most of you realize that many, if not most of the dancers in these bars are straight men?

Yes, and straight men are allowed as customers at a gay bar as well.  I believe we are advocating to only separate sexual nudity by sex, not by orientation.

Inclusion goes on and off according to convenience!

These are the unintended consequences of civil rights.  Somethings are just better the way they were: Separate but Equal

You've got that right! I knew the good days had truly ended when I saw a gaggle of women in what used to be my favorite leather bar. Women being there just destroys the vibe. I also miss the days when a "gay" gym had only men as clientele. It's so distracting to see women crawling around the place in their spandex tights and bralets .. ugh!

But the P.C. police ban all forms of even the whiff of gender discrimination these days. As for the gay bars, I suppose it makes economic sense to allow any adult in who wants to be there and who buys drinks.

Even so, I miss the 70s and the 80s. Gay social and sexual spaces were just that and I was fine with it.

I hate to be the bearer of this news, but women in gay strip clubs (and clubs/bars in general) is not a phenomenon of the last ten years. I saw it all the time starting in the mid-1990's when I started going out to bars. Doing the math, 2024 - 1995 = 29 years ago. It didn't seem like anything new back then, either.
