Montréal trip report (and first post)

Recommended Posts

Well I'm just back from four days in Montreal Sept 5-8.  There's lots to cover here:

MONTREAL & THE VILLAGE

*  Summer and autumn weather experienced.  Two warm days, one wet day,  and finally a cooler day  (high of 56F).

*  I was surprised at the number of Teslas operating in Montreal.  I took plenty of Ubers during my visit and more than half of them were Tesla vehicles.

*  The Village was moderately busy during my stay...especially on the first two days when the weather was warm.    I did not notice an unusual amount of homeless beggars on St. Catherine.  For sure they were there...but no more or less than in the last 2-3 years.

CAMPUS & STOCK

*  Campus in the afternoon seems to be pretty dead.  I went twice arriving around 4:30pm.  The first time there were three dancers...only one was moderately attractive.  The second time, there were no dancers for the first half hour.  Then Carmelo arrived.  He was just OK.  I didn't stay much longer.

*  Campus definitely has the better evening lineup of dancers.  Just better quality and more attractive than Stock. There are a few cute guys at Stock but you will find more masculine/muscular guys at Campus if that is your thing.  I noticed that former Stock dancer Fabio is now dancing at Campus.

*  Malik was at Campus on Saturday night doing private dances.  I only noticed him fairly late as I was speaking with several dancers at the bar and not really paying attention to what was going on around me.

* I spent one evening socializing/drinking/playing with Gatuso and Leonardo at Stock.  It was a different experience as one is from Morocco and the other Tunisia.  Neither of them drink much alcohol although they did with me.  Gatuso said he's probably going to go to hell for drinking alcohol.  Meanwhile he does lots of porn videos and OnlyFans content that is very explicit.  Isn't that going to send you to hell too....if you believe that crap?  Anyway, it was a different yet very fun evening.

* I had a great "reunion" evening at Stock on Friday with former dancer Jo, former dancer Zack, and former/current dancer Derrick and former/current dancer Jasper.   So much fun along with sexy bartender Alex.  I've known Jo since 2011.  Such a nice and sexy guy.  He's straight yet very open and relaxed about it all.  Anyway, we all shared old stories about Milton, JP, Thierry, Steven (RIP), Franco, etc.  It was like getting together with old friends.  I treasure those moments.

* This was a shocker.  Stock had what I would call a trans stripper on Friday night.  Biologically male but dressed and coiffed as a female.  Quite short.  Female hair, full makeup, very small penis.  I don't know what to say about it other than I was surprised.  Customers in attendance close to where I was were in shock and not enjoying it.  I have no further comment.

* As far as females at the clubs, they were in attendance all four nights.  It was manageable and didn't impact my experience with the exception of Thursday night at Campus. There was a bachelorette group there.  One of the women was a very aggressive and in-your-face type of gal.  I paid my cheque and high-tailed it over to Stock.  Problem solved.

Hi everyone!
This is my first post after lurking for a while and enjoying reading you all.

I have just returned from a trip to Montreal and wanted to recount my experiences.

I was expecting to spend most of my time at Stock since first going there in March and being wowed by the magnetic Gatuso, but I arrived early so went over to Campus first - not knowing what to expect.

I am glad I did. After a slowish start things got going quickly after 10pm with so many dancers! I ended up staying the whole night (and then passing large portions of Friday and Saturday nights there too).

My bank balance won’t thank me but I must have had private dances with a good dozen of their dancers by the end of the weekend. A special mention to Brandon, Mike, Dave and Charles for being extra special (to my taste anyway), but there really is someone for every taste.

I was a solo visitor and once it was seen that I was partaking in private dances I did attract a fair bit of (overwhelmingly welcome) attention from the dancers, but there is one thing I found a bit difficult at times, and that was making it clear I wasn’t interested.

Sometimes I made no effort to attract a guy’s attention and they would engage me in conversation. I then found it difficult to communicate that I wasn’t really interested. When the inevitable question came about whether I wanted a dance, I would say something about “maybe later” hoping they would get the hint (I’m English, we are polite!) but it was often interpreted literally! One dancer was quite put out when “later” never arrived and made a great show of ignoring me completely the next day!

Anyway, on my last night I did venture over to Stock and whilst it is undoubtedly quieter, I really didn’t mind since I was only there for Jasper and Jasper alone. Sharing one or their more private booths with him was heaven and well worth the trip alone.

A word about booths - whilst there isn’t really a curtain at Campus the booths are still quite well tucked away and I didn’t really feel on display at all.

All in all, I would agree that Campus is on a roll. But I also agree with an earlier contributor who said that Campus is also good for getting “numbers for later”. It is a system which benefits both parties and is a lot more fun than a certain website!

Anyway, thanks for the great site and I hope to return to Montreal once my bank balance has healed! 😉

Can you such the guys's dicks in the booths? Or what happens in there?

Such and such may happen in the booths.

That is the perfect way to ask/answer this question, because it is vague and non-descript.  After all, it's going to be up to the individual dancer and patron.

It's akin to asking: "Do you think such and such go on in their bedroom?"  The answer: yes, such and such might.

I just returned last night from a weekend trip up to Montreal. This was my first trip of this kind, but it won’t be my last. My husband and I arrived on Friday morning and left Sunday night, visiting Campus and Stock on Friday and Campus and Diamant Rouge on Saturday.

Stock: I think we went there around 11pm, taking a break from Campus. I could be off about the exact timing, but Stock had dancers on stage pretty often at that time though the club wasn’t too full. Dancers were mostly talking to women or each other. We only stayed for one drink and then left, didn’t do any private dances. I would be willing to try again, but since we had a lot more fun at Campus we went back there.

Diamant Rouge: this was also only a short stop in, around 11pm. We saw an incredible pole dancer - by far the most impressive moves we saw anywhere, but left after one song. The bar was pretty quiet but everyone seemed friendly. This felt more like we walked into a neighborhood bar, which I could see feeling very nice if that’s your vibe.

Campus: both nights we arrived around 9:15. On Friday, we had reserved a table which was fun to do but not necessarily something I’d do again. It required bottle service so we got some champagne (wanting to be sure we didn’t drink too much too fast). The server was nice and attentive. Our table was right at the little platform off the main stage, which meant we always had a great view and also quite a bit of dancer interaction. When we first arrived, there were breaks between performers but around 10 it seemed to switch to back to back (or close to it) with a ton of different guys. The guys were more attractive overall than anywhere else, and some put on really great shows.

Each night we got 3 private dances together, for which they charge twice the price ($40/song). We basically expected that and stuck with that as our plan.

On Friday, we started with Parker, then Tommy, and last Sammy. We did 2-3 songs with each of them, and they each had slightly different styles but were all good choices for us. Tommy was my favorite of the night both onstage and off - he’s charismatic, a great performer, and is in incredible shape. We didn’t ask for anything in particular for the dances, but all 3 progressed relatively quickly to full nudity and all of the dancers guided our hands all over. For those interested, Malik Delgaty danced on stage around 1am I think.

On Saturday, there were way more women, and several bachelorette parties (3-4 I think?). The behavior overall wasn’t too bad though, and I still felt plenty comfortable there. The most egregious behavior was from another gay patron who kept getting on stage and embarrassing himself. That got old fast, but the dancers handled it as well as they could. Our first dance on Sat was with Tommy again, followed by Fernando, and lastly with either Eduardo or Drago - I thought he introduced himself to us as Eduardo but on stage the MC seemed to be saying Drago. He is a beefy Colombian who was wearing a white baseball hat both nights. Again, we did 2-3 songs with each, with Eduardo being my favorite of the night (though again, Tommy gave some serious competition).

Other standout dancers that I would go back for included Diego, the other Latin lovers (sadly I missed their names but Eduardo and 2 others danced together and were announced as the Latin lovers - both darker complexion, very attractive and great dancers), Vinnie, and a few others whose name I either missed or can’t recall.

Overall we had a great time, but I wanted to share a few downsides. I was surprised at the pushiness of some of the bar and door staff with regard to demanding tips. We are frequent tippers and were already doing that, but hearing other patrons get  told off publicly about tipping was surprising even coming from the very tip-heavy US. Also, one dancer who I won’t call out publicly was only showing a dildo, not his actual dick. I was suspicious during his first number both because of the size and the positioning, and then when he only gave quick flashes of it, my confidence grew before becoming totally positive during the last onstage number he did on Saturday. I would rather see a smaller real penis or even a performer that just doesn’t show it all than to see a dildo paraded around like it’s real.

Many of the dancers mentioned heading to Miami in the winter, which I am guessing (or maybe just hoping?) means Wilton Manors, so I think a trip there may be in order in the colder months.

Thanks to everyone on this forum who shares so much info here. Going in without much experience, I really appreciated having a better idea of what to expect.

I don’t chime in here much in spite of residing within walking of The Village for a substantial part of the year. I also don’t have much psychologically invested in how satisfactorily excursions up here go for visitors. My go-to dancer clubs would probably be the bars residually functioning in some future season of The Last of Us. They are not overly dependent on tourism. I am, however, tourist-friendly, women-friendly, and streetperson-friendly.

Very surprised about the tipping observations. I’ve been going to Campus since 1996 and Stock since its Rue St-André location decades ago. If I haven’t seen it all I’ve seen a slice of it. I have never ever ever been hit up for a tip. I repeat: never. That doesn’t mean that modest amount gratuities don’t pass from my hand to the card reader, tip jar, or the not overtly anticipating palm. If somebody is getting flack about tips I would think that news about a pinchpenny inclination has been rapidly disseminated throughout the few square metres a club occupies. My tipping composite would be considered minimalist because I typically only drink one Perrier; I don’t like bladder expansion getting in the way of a dance sesh. All the staff behave neutrally towards me. The entrance collectors have been uniformly friendly upon arrival. A loonie or toonie along with a thank you for their reliable and warm consistent role seems to be enough.

The dancer menu card would or should be, in spite of the quotes reported, and IMO accurately, $20 for 1:1, $20 for 1:2 where 2 means a patron couple, and $40 for 2:x where 2 means two dancers and x represents the client volume (typically 1). One outlier; Malik ($30), to whom my recent response was that I would take some time to process such a special rate. Relegated to backup status in the event Mr Right right now hadn’t materialized.

Now then, you can pay what you want. Autonomy is key. My latest recent longish sesh dancer prior to travel received 8 pink fittys from me. Essentially, Malik left $400 on the table for another stripper to work for. It was all low key, based on my terms; in fact money was not mentioned by him at all. He’s an adorable keeper (infrequent performer) and intelligent across all key dimensions who will become occasionally if not regularly a gentleman outcaller. I beat off again at bedtime to the memory of tossing a load with him some few hours prior.

I’m not about to criticize others’ financial experiences but simply putting forward my longstanding comprehension of baseline cubicle rates. Finally, I don’t think it can be ruled out that the less dances committed to, the greater the gaming for upsell. I doubt very much that a dancer offered $200 all-in for 10 dances with two visiting dudes crammed into the booth together would shark tank out of the deal unless he has a queue of customers waiting to make it rain. In fact, choreographically, the output of interaction is in many ways less demanding unless docking into his mouth had been negotiated.

The sex toy thing? WTAF!? Can’t even. BYOD and request a private dance discount for StarWars-grade dildo duelling.

I greatly appreciate this info - I’m glad to hear that the tipping things I heard may have been outliers. I think it was just 2 specific comments, but even that took me by surprise since they weren’t geared towards me but were loud enough to take in. It’s also great to know that we may have overpaid for the dances - I’m sure we were seen as naive, which we were, so lesson learned and I’ll try negotiating a bit next time. Lastly, thanks for the laughs with the Star Wars visual.
