I'm too out of touch to pick an emoji indicating embarrassment, so I'll just say "thank you, I'm so embarrassed."

Oh, wait, where is THAT thread though, if someone can find it, because I want to engage with Jamie over this "Not for sex (tbh it rather ruins your sex life)" (WTHeck?!).  THANKS!

You're a sweetheart! Similar things have happened to all of us, you had a "blonde moment"!

This is not a critique of you asking, please don't take it negatively.

Why do dancers dance? Why do carpenters do carpentry?

I am actually more baffled about why people wait tables and work in any kind of customer service in other settings, sometimes for minimum wage.

I am more baffled by people who work for decades in jobs and professions that they hate, surrounded by people that they hate even more, and they do it day after day until they retire or die, sometimes having nothing to show for afterwards.

I'm even more curious about law enforcement people who volunteer to risk their lives for a living, or people who work in case management doing all kinds of thankless jobs trying to help people who are lost causes.

First of all, brilliant post:

When it comes to folks who do jobs, they hate I guess it's because they think they have no better choice. We have a frequent poster who worked for the Federal Government in this city for years, hating his job and coworkers, he retired as soon as he could. He (like so many) bought a house for peanuts that's now worth a small fortune. He made his own choices and now he's wealthy. He could have moved to other city but buying of even renting would have been more expensive.

Waiters should try to work in fancy restaurants, that's where the real money is!

Most cops love to service their community, others love to intimidate, and bully.

I guess we always have choices, is up to us to pick them!

An escort I see often told me he worked as a store clerk and hated it, he felt like a slave chained to the store for 8 hours. Now he loves the money, freedom, etc.
