I really cannot ask more of a person than this -- if it is a active commitment, not simply a (passive) hope. None of us are perfect, that is for sure. And your pledge (if it is that) is as good for me to embrace as it is for you.

strive (strv)

intr.v. strove, (strv) striv·en, (strvn) or strived striv·ing, strives

1. To exert much effort or energy; endeavor.

2. To struggle or fight forcefully; contend: strive against injustice.

thanks for your words. i'm nearly certain there will be times where i revert to the "same old me" but it is important to remember that losing a battle doesn't necessarily preclude winning the war.

i'm not sure why you reproduced dictionary entries though. being rather intelligent, i was aware of the definition of the word--strive--i used. i'm somewhat enterprising & resourceful myself, so if i didn't, i could have discovered it.

As I myself have found, this will be true... but with continued vigilience these lapses can be minimized and sometimes mitigated if there is the will to do so.

but it

I agree... as I'm sure you will agree that loosing battles on a continuing basis does not bode well for the war.

I never doubted your command of the word or that you are enterprising and resourceful -- and hope you did not take offense for none was meant. I did think that particular word the key to your statement and thought it to be of overriding importance to warrant emphasis -- for you, for me, for anyone else who reads it. I chose a method of emphasis that left nothing to inference. We are surrounded by a myriad of familiar people and objects in our daily lives. But while familiar, they are often, if not ususally, relegated to the obscure background, unless and until some emphasis is placed on them. So I felt in this case.

Especially when Matt (and yeah, even the Mattie-in-the-Morning) is spilling the "hot" milk with you! }>

Ethan: While we are on the topic of ways that you can improve, let me add my thoughts...

1) We can all improve... but I like you a lot the way you are. You are intelligent, insightful, and passionate about your beliefs. Don't change too much... just remember there are many ways to make a point. "You can catch more flies with honey than..."

2) More importantly, here's a word to learn....

bottom /'bat-em/ n. ME botme 1a. the underside of something. b.the buttocks. c. the surface designed to support something resting on it.

Oh hell... it means I have my way with your very cute ass! LOL

Seriously, cute topboy, I hope you have had a pensive New Year's week, and that you have an outstanding, prosperous, and happy year!
