Rentboy Problems Part 845,766,335.2C?

Rentboy is arguably the best escort site around. Alas, it sucks of late. Pictures never load correctly, if at all. What gives? Is there anything I can do to solve the problem?

I haven't had any issues at all since it was launched. Make sure you have cleared your cache and have the latest version of your browser. Try firefox or safari. Maybe it's a browser issue.

I don't think it's the browser or the cache issue, I just think that they haven't allocated enough bandwidth. I have cleared the cache and have tried all the browsers and the site still performs badly: some days it's OK and everything loads fine and fast. Other days, like this pass weekend, very slow and half of the pictures don't download at all.

Me too. The old site used to sometimes have these same problems, but they had been solved for the last year or so. By redesigning the site, they've re-introduced the old problems. The thing that sets Rentboy apart and make it the best of the escort sites are the photos. When they don't work, the site has given up it edge on the others.

Actually what sets Rentboy apart from the rest is that if a guy has an ad up on Rentboy, you can be sure he is actively escorting and seeking clients. Now unfortunately that doesn't mean he will return emails or phone calls, but at least you know he's not dead or retired or otherwise generally unavailable. I know some former escorts fairly well and in some cases it took years of cajoling, whining, threatening, etc to get rid of all their ads, and occasionally I still come across one on an obscure site.

And yes Rentboy is occasionally slow, but I have not been having the issues you've described as far as pics only partially loading. If you have a slow connection, some of their ads, the ones that flash for instance, load preferentially, over the pics, and the page may time out. I usually go and download a file from one of those sites that tells you how fast its transferring. I'm usually around 100 to 120, if I'm down around 55 - ie close to dial up speed, I'll be frustrated soon. I just usually disconnect and reconnect to see if that will speed things up. Also the suggestion to use a different browser sometimes speeds things up appreciably.

Is it me--or are the pictures on the new Rentboy site--smaller than the old ones. One of the things that I liked best about the old site that was that the pictures were larger than the ones on M4RN--even after clicking on the ones on M4RN and enlarging them--the old Rentboy pictures still seemed larger to me.

 

 

Also I go along with many other posters in saying that--the site is as slow as a midwinter solstice holiday celebrating the rebirth of the sun (or possibly "son").

My experience with Rentboy is ALL OF THE ABOVE. In addition, I have tried to email to 4 or 5 escorts in NYC in the past 4 weeks and so far NONE have replied. I tried several times. I strongly suspect that their email function does not work. I press email, compose the message and then press "send". Before the changeover, we would get a confirmation that email had indeed been sent....now, no confirmation....I don't think that this function is working. I contacted Rentboy about this and their reply was that it was working.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT...if the escorts are made aware of this, Rentboy will find a problem keeping their business going. Their reply that it was working is just plain laziness, showing that they really don't care.

I find these issues very strange. I have NEVER had any issue at any time accessing the NEW version of Rentboy. Why is there such a difference in experience?

 

My PC and my iMac both have 4GB of RAM. I wonder if it is more video intensive that it requires more RAM??

 

I just don't understand why the difference?

As far as I'm concerned this new version of Rentboy is an absolute and a complete waste. It has gotten to the point that I spend most of my time hitting retry in order to have the photographs appear. Even then some do and some don't appear. I have always used Rentboy to check out who is new in my area and in areas I plan on visiting BUT the site is rapidly becoming more trouble than worth. Rentboy currently SUCKS!!!!!

As much as I dislike the new Rentboy site I must admit that I just attempted to contact a escort through their email. I received an answer from the escort within minutes. It thus appears that that aspect of the site is working; at least for me anyway.

I've had no problems whatsoever accessing the new version of Rentboy. After getting used to the new layout, I'm finding it more user-friendly than the old.

 

I never send emails to escorts through a site such as Rentboy. I would try to find their email address if possible and send directly from my aol account, or just call. For an escort who only takes emails through the site, I don't bother with him. He'll be too difficult to contact in any event.

One thing I have noticed is that when some pages are slow to load all the pictures, clicking 'Refresh' on my browser brings the entire page up immediately.

Don't worry, now rentboy is doing fine. There was a change in their management and a new software was installed. It always take some time for that to work, but now it seems to be fine.

Guy I have to tell you I have come to HATE rentboy worse than poison. It is slower than molasses to come up initially. When I put in a city it takes forever for the escorts profiles to begin appearing. Once I scroll half way down a page the escort’s photographs are blank. When I refresh some appear and some do NOT. The same thing happens when I click on an individual escorts profile – some of his photographs appear and some do NOT. If I refresh different one disappear and appear.

I used to use this site all the time. I find I am simply no longer interested in wasting my time and being frustrated. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED RENTBOY SUCKS!!!!!

Try it now, I think daddy's and rentboy are the only reliable international websites for escorts.
