I've got this thing where I wait until a masseur has advertised for at least 2 years before I go see him. I've even started saving the occasional BAR to check this.

/

So anyway, there's this guy Noom who's been offering Thai and Swedish massage. About once a year he updates his age and weight. He used to advertise VGL, but he took that off at the last change. Perhaps he got feedback that others didn't think so, and is trying to keep his ads reasonably honest. At least I would think that if only from the age updates.

/

So I was surprised this latest BAR where he's changed his name to Nino and dropped any reference to Thai massage. The rest of the ad is the same, including the profile picture.

/

Any ideas why he might do that? My conjectures, which are only conjectures:

/

1) Asian masseurs suffering a drop in business due to SARS fears

2) Too much competition in the Thai department, there's a new 24-yo cutie that's been advertising for the last 2 weeks

/

And has anyone here actually tried this guy? How is he for Thai theraputic massages (Wat Po style)?

RE: Odd change for SF masseur

I'd guess Noom/Nino is in fact Thai from when he used to run a face pic he looks Asian. / There is one apparently white guy who advertises Thai massage. Oddly, that one has an ad that says "nonsexual" but runs a nude pic :p / You're right Thai massage is an obscure art. Only a few gay masseurs in SF advertise for it. The last guy I saw for it regularly quit and went into catering. I'd be really upset except his cooking is really tasty. Anyway, it's his life.

RE: Odd change for SF masseur

it was Teddy (who no longer gives massage) and I do know how to contact him. however, as I do not know you perhaps you can understand I would be reluctant to give out his contact info without his permission

Interesting. I googled Noom massage San Francisco and came up with this message from http://www.thaiguys.org:

/

"Anyone who had any info of a thai guy name : NOOM

(*personal name deleted by sfnewbie*)now living in San Francisco as

an Escort / Massage boy (who claims himself makes lots/lots

cash from the clients who has been manipulated) please

e-mail me"

/

Now personally I don't actually mind when a masseur offers extra for extra (I just make sure I don't have the extra cash for it, so I can't take him up on his offer). But if he is actually going around bragging about manipulating clients (not saying he is, that is just the poster's charge), I would consider that a sign of an insensitive masseur who may not treat me as a human being. So I might want to wait until I hear more about Noom before considering using his legitimate services.
