212 Spa in NYC - Anyone Have Any Experience?

Just curious. Does anyone on the list have any experience with the 212 Spa in NYC, located on 37th St and Madison Ave?

 

They offer massage, spa treatments and a "room day pass."

 

What's the 411 on this place. Worth looking into?

never been to that one, but I had a bad experiences with one on 34 and 5th before, not sure if it's from the same people.

I have been to 212 Men's Holistic Spa 2 times. I have also been to the one mentioned above on 34th and 5th. The one on 34th street was finally shut down. THANK GOD. It was just plain gross and so were the people that offered services there. The place 212 is very different and not owned by the same people. The ads for the place can be a little deceiving though. They say facials and massage and detox steam room etc... That is not what they offer. When you walk in, they take you to a massage room and you put on a robe. Then you go to a steam room to relax. (they pair people up to be in the steam room at the same time but you are there with other clients and not always someone you would choose to be in that situation with) Then they take you to a wet room and scrub you with a scrub glove and shower gel. (cheap shower gel) then you go back to your massage room and get your massage. Most of the masseurs are not licensed but they do tell you they are. (Since I am I can tell with the way they are massaging me that they are doing it incorrectly) but it does feel good. Then when you roll over, they give you a handjob. No more and no less. I have had one of them actually give me his number but when at work, he says he only gives handjobs and would get in big trouble if he did more.

 

I actually enjoyed both times I went though. I did not have high expectations and it was overall a clean and nice place. The masseurs were clean and not unattractive however they were not greek gods by any means either. The kicker though is the way the rate works out for them. They tell you the rate is 120 for an hour. BUT that is the rate that 212 charges. The masseur does not see any of that money (or at least that is what I was told by both masseurs on separate occasions) The masseurs work on tips and not just a tip like you would tip a normal masseur or escort for services well done. They do expect 50-100 from you for their portion of the service. Therefore, you are still paying around 200 and only getting a massage with a handjob at the end. The masseurs do not strip and stay dressed.(well they normally don't but they both did)

 

My review of the place would be it is something to try because it is different and different can always be fun. Remember what you are actually paying for though as a whole for the whole service offered. It is better to hire someone for erotic massage/ escorting. You can pick the person yourself, make sure you are a match, and you can get a lot more than just the minimum of services offered for the same price. Do I recommend it? yes if you want to try something new without any expectations. Do I recommend it over hiring someone reviewed on this site? NO! On here you can pick your own person, make sure they are a match, make sure they offer the desired service, and make sure you are happy with the service provided.
