Good News - Gaiety scheduled to re-open

I checked in this week's issue of NEXT and HX magazines and did not locate a Gaiety ad that stated the "Gaiety is scheduled to re-open". I did notice in the NEXT magazine's directory the address of the G is still mentioned... Perhaps Athlguy can scan the ad he saw to clear up any questions regarding it's validity. Cooper

 

In case you haven't heard already...ad in latest issue of Next magazine says Gaiety is scheduled to re-open. I'll try and scan the ad and post it here as soon as I have more time...Stay Tuned!!!

The NYC court granted the ABS owners a stay. This is headed to state court. FYI, The bookstores are still open and as of last night the "ventilation slots" were also open. They were sealed as of Wednesday in most locations.

I'm suprised that a grandfather clause hasn't at least been sought through legal remedy. The businesses opperated according to the law. The law changed. That presents a hardship on existing businesses through no fault of their own for following the law that was in place. New rules for new businesses. A lot could be done through the zoning/license laws to tone down the businesses already in place. This all assumes annihilation isn't the goal.

Call me SHERLOCK,

 

When I read the Re-opening post I started dialing.

 

If your opening a new business you need a new phone, the old G phone is disconnected.

 

I called 411 and got a new number I have never heard.

 

I called.......

 

Guess who answers, (NO NOT NEO TT) DENISE LIVE !!!

 

She claims that by the end of the month she will have a new location secured.

Dont drive her nuts, lets give her time to do her work !

 

She sent us a signal !!

 

SIGH,,,, WAS SADD AND MADD, NOW HAPPY !!

One of the highlights of a planned trip to NYC was my first visit to the Gaiety. Disappointing news when I read that it was closing. Now I am hoping that indeed it will be on my "to do" list once again. Keep us posted on the information as it becomes available. Thanks.

:9 I do know that Denise is working hard on this project, so we just have to keep our fingers crossed. She is a very resourcefull business woman who does not give up easily,so there is real grounds for hope.

I hope if this does go through, guys will appreciate what they've got and stop villifying her and bitching about little things.

Sorry Cooper. I didn't intend that comment to be necessarily directed to any poster here, so I apologize to anyone that took it personally. It is true that those comments tend to occur on the muscleservice, but most of those guys do read the posts here and it was directed to anyone to whom it may apply.And as you know, on the muscleservice it does apply to quite a few posters.

I do agree, that in relation to the Gaiety (but not necessarily in relation to escorts) the postings here have been quite fair.

Ozarko: I totally agree with your comments about Denise. She takes a risk that few would even venture. While others have failed, she didn't. She knew what it took to keep the doors of the G open for 30 years and I too wish her the best if she can do it again... As for your comments about "relation to escorts", agreed, but as you can see we're working on it.

Athlguy: Since many of us have this week's issue of NEXT, perhaps you can just tell us the page and issue you saw the Gaiety ad that stated "the Gaiety will re-open". I'm certain one of us can scan it for you. thanks!
