The strip clubs can keep you pleasurably occupied from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m, but what do you do from 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.?

Montreal is a world class city with a great deal to offer. I merely want to make one suggestion - visit the cathedral, which is located in the center of the city, right across the street from the Queen Elizabeth Hotel. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century in imitation of St. Peter's Church in Rome. The Montreal version is 40% the size of St. Peter's in Rome, but impressive and beautiful. The facade has the colossal order of architecture; the interior has a very beautiful coffered and vaulted ceiling and a 40% scale Bernini baldacchino (canopy) with twisted columns over the altar. Go for a mass in the morning when they have all the lights turned on and the organ playing and the choirs singing. And then sit and listen to a sermon. Even if you do not know French very well, listening to a sermon in French French by a skilled preacher is an extraordinary experience. The sound is so beautiful, you will be aurally ravished. The words are as clear and crisp and mellifluous as sounds can be. It is an incredible aesthetic experience.

MONTREAL IS A VIBRANT AND EXCITING CITY. ONE SHOULD REALLY GET OUT OF THE "GAY GHETTO" AND EXPLORE EVERYTHING THIS "PARIS OF NORTH AMERICA" HAS TO OFFER.

BOZO ESPECIALLY ENJOYS THE MUSEE DES ARTS AND THE BIODOME. ALSO, WALKING THE NARROW COBBLESTONE STREETS OF THE OLD CITY IS A MUST. ON A NICE DAY, TAKE A HIKE UP TO THE TOP OF MOUNT ROYAL. IT IS SITUATED NOT FAR FROM DOWNTOWN, AND THE VIEWS FROM THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN ARE SPECTACULAR.

MONTREAL HAS MANY FESTIVALS AND FAIRS GOING ON DURING THE SUMMER. HERE ARE TWO LINKS TO SITES GIVING INFO ON EVENTS IN MONTREAL:

My advice is to take the same hike at night. The area is very cruisy and wild orgys are not unheard of. Trust me - it's one of the premier attractions of Montreal for those so sluttily inclined.

Actually the action is pretty good in the daytime too - during summer months when the brush and foliage provide some privacy from prying eyes.

Enjoy!

How about a smoked meat (i.e., pastrami or corned beef) sandwich at Schwarz's? Or bagels better than those in NYC at any number of places?

At $33 a pound, that must have set you back $200. A friend of mine ate a 3 pound lobster there (for $100) and it was chewy and tough as nails. If you want a tender one, go for the one and a half to two pounders!

And Milos, while good, is expensive and a tourist trap. A better Greek seafood restaurant can be found at L'Oursin de la Mer at 254 Bernard Ouest in the Plateau Mont Royal (514) 279-9370. This is where the locals go looking for good seafood at a more reasonable price. It is also more intimate.

Do you know the name of it?

I'm also looking for a French seafood restaraunt that makes Coquille St Jacques (mixture of Scallops, Shrimps, Lobster Meat, Langostinos and Crabmeat in a creamy white wine and mushroom sauce). Fisherman's Wharf of San Fransico in downtown Toronto was decent.

Thanks!

I just came back from Sunday brunch at Le Cou Rouge (The Red Neck) on Amherst St at the western end of the Village (up 2 1/2 blocks from Ste Catherine). It is owned by an acquaintance of mine but it was the first time I had had brunch there (only served on Sundays). The food was good and all you can eat buffet style, hot and cold. A lovely poached salmon, good salad, and lots of other goodies.

But the best part was Carl, the waiter, who the owner, Sean (or Shawn), told me is training to become a fireman (be still, my heart!). Cute as hell and big biceps, ummmm. Anyway, a gay friendly place, gay owned but mixed clientele. Try it, you might like it. (they also have an outside terrace at the back which is not open yet). And no, I wasn't asked to plug their place. :7
