"The Cock" in NYC closing?

A friend mentioned to me that "The Cock" bar in NYC was closing. Visiting there was on my "to do" list next time I visited NYC. Is it true, and what are the details? Another bar closing due to the crackdown on gay bars in NYC? Thanks for any light you can shed on the matter.

Hadn't heard anything about the bar closing. If it is true it might be more a matter of the rapidly escalating real estate market that is forcing many bars (straight and gay) to close lately.

A lot of the Smaller.. "Gay Bars" and "Straight Bars" Opened up in what now is considered Prime Real Estate Areas..$$$$$ There's no "Crackdown" on Gay Bars, it's a matter of How much the Real Estate is worth, and Owners Selling Properties..(Gaiety ex.) There are only a couple of Buildings also owned by the "Owner of the Bar", who will survive the Real Estate Market.."Until" the Offer is to good to pass up.LOL :+

Did some checking, tentative plan is to change locations in July (at first I heard it would be by Mid-June, but that date has been refuted) and take over the space formerly operated as The Hole on 2nd and 2nd.

The Sunday Sperm party has moved to Opaline Ave A btw 5th and 6th.
