Dear BSR: I really should ignore your ridiculous post, but it's almost one o'clock in the morning and guess I could use a little exercise before going to bed.

>Zipperzone, you're quite anti-American, aren't you?

You are SO FUCKING WRONG - I'm not anti-American. I LOVE Americans, with the possible exception of your Christian rightwing elected leaders and the odd idot who goes off on rants on message boards.

>I get

>that sense from your nasty little reply about dancers

>accepting US$.

Well your "sense" is yours and yours alone, and is probably a misnomer.

>The analogy you used, in an attempt to

>underscore American "arrogance" (oh, if only I had a buck for

>every time I heard a Canadian accuse us Americans of arrogance

>- I could buy a helluva lot more than a Lexus), turned out to

>be off the mark.

Oh baby! I just checked all my posts in this thread and you are SO WRONG. I never used the word "arrogance". That's your little misconstrued addition. So if you are thinking that Canadians accuse Americans of arrogance, perhaps it's because YOU have a guilty concience.

>As other posters pointed out, stores and

>dancers are two very different economic entities, and

>apparently there are plenty of dancers who do indeed accept

>US$.

Different economic entities? - well they are both selling something so where's the big differance? Some enterprising dancers will except Euros too.

>Like I said, I've spent plenty (far too much, unfortunately)

>time in Toronto,

There are probably a few Torontonians who would agree that you have spent FAR FAR too much time in Toronto.

>and I also deal with quite a few Canadians on

>my job. About 90% of them seem to be pretty OK with

>Americans, or at least don't make any broad sweeping

>generalizations about us. The other 10% flat-out drip

>hostility for America and Americans. Oh sure, they're oh so

>painstakingly polite, because Canadians so smugly pride

>themselves on being such a **polite** country, but their

>anti-Americanism oozes from their pores.

Do you think it is any more pronounced than your anti-Canadianism?

Wow - Have you ever considered gettin therapy?

>If an American ever boasted to a Canadian about our superior

>healthcare system (e.g., we have a 57% recovery rate from

>breast cancer in the US versus ~25% in Canada, Bill Clinton

>would have died under the Canadian healthcare system but is

>alive and kicking thanks to the quick intervention he received

>in the US; wealthy foreigners from all over the world - and

>that includes plenty of Canadians - come to the US for

>healthcare ... I could go on and on with examples), that of

>course would be arrogant.

And you wouldn't want to be accused of being arrogant, would you?

But you are haywire in your statistics, not that it matters to you.

But you have hit the nail on the head when you say "wealthy foreigners from all over the world - and that includes plenty of Canadians - come to the US for healthcare" The operative word being "wealthy". Unfortunately those of you who are not wealthy have to go without and the average American, who is lucky enough to be able to afford health insurance, pays through the nose for it and is at the mercy of the insurers who may elect not to cover a condition if it is going to upset their balance sheet.

I as a Canadian have 100% health insurance, government run, for only $56.00 per month. Beat that!

And while we're on the subject, why is it that so many of your citizens are travelling to India to get operations. It wouldn't be because they can't afford to have the proceedure done in the US, would it? Of course not.

And as further proof that you don't know what the fuck you are talking about when you claimed Clinton would have died if he had to depend on the Canadian health system..... Our previous Prime Minister had chest pains a couple of weeks ago and had a quadruple bipass the following day. So up yours!

>But you feel free to make such a

>claim. After all, how can a **polite** Canadian be arrogant?

Read my post - idiot - I specifically said that our system was not perfect. What part of Reading Comprehension 101 did you fail?

>The point I was trying to make, but was hesitant to do so, was

>to shut the F*CK up if you have to pay a wittle mowe fow youw

>wittle Wexus. Try to remember that your socialist healthcare

>is being subsidized to the tune of billions of dollars by us

>Americans.

You sir, don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

Try to remember that your other socialist ways

>were subsidized to the tune of billions and BILLIONS of

>dollars during the Cold War. Canada's defense spending as a

>percent of GDP was puny relative to America's during the Cold

>War because you knew we would protect the continent.

Quite frankly - if it wasn't for your foreign policies, perhaps the continent wouldn't have needed protection. Ever think of that?

>I don't expect gratitude, far from it.

Good, believe me when I say, I had no intention of offering it.

>But is too much to ask that

>the country that benefits so enormously from America NOT turn

>around and defecate on America and Americans? Actually, wanna

>complain about your more-expensive-in-Canada Lexus? Go ahead,

>complain away. But please, PLEASE take your anti-Americanism

>and shove it up your smug, ungrateful Canadian a**.

You, in this post, have illustrated more clearly than I ever could, why many people in the world consider SOME Americans, of which you are a shining example, to be "Ugly Americans". Fortunately, for me, I have met very few who fall into that category - but they are out there as you have shown us.

By the way, what does BSR stand for? Bull Shit Reigns?

Have a great weekend.

Such a polite response from yet another polite Canadian. Yours truly is such a polite country.

When someone asked about the possibility of paying dancers with US$, here was your response:

"This type of question always makes me laugh. Now that our dollar is at par with the US dollar - what would be the reaction if Canadians went down to the US and tried to buy with Canadian dollars? Not much success, would be my guess."

IMO, you were implying that Americans who make that assumption are either arrogant or stupid. Ah, but you turned out to be wrong. Apparently plenty of dancers are willing to accept the Yankee dollar. Therefore, I assumed that your knee-jerk response of Americans as either arrogant or stupid as borne of anti-American bigotry. The other clue to your anti-Americanism was: "please don't dump on Canadians just because we have a better (though far from perfect) health system." I've heard it so much in Canada, Canadians who out of the blue, often as a complete non sequitor, boast about the superiority of their healthcare. I can't imagine Canadians would ever lord their superior healthcare system over Mexicans (which is uncontestable), because that would be 1) weird and inappropriate and 2) rude. Again, this behavior is symptomatic of anti-Americanism. Most Canadians who spouted off about their healthcare superiority later revealed themselves to be quite anti-American.

As surely as the sun rises in the East, you have to have the last word. So please, go ahead. I can't wait for your next dose of Canadian politeness.

>Such a polite response from yet another polite Canadian.

>Yours truly is such a polite country.

Now you're talking gibberish. How can "Yours truly" be referred to as a country. I think that Reading Comprehension is not the only subject you should take a refresher course in.

"Border cities" in both Canada and the US, have a long history of taking each other's currency. Try that a 1000 miles inland and you may be surprised at the reaction. That has already been covered by another member, in a post you either never read or conveniently chose to ignore.

Well I'd like to tell you that IMO, YOUR opinion is quite flawed.

>The other clue to your

>because we have a better (though far from perfect) health

>system." I've heard it so much in Canada, Canadians who out

Methinks they touch a raw nerve in you. Right? And just because I asked you not to "dump on Canadians", you think that indicates anti-Americanism on my part? Christ! are you ever off track!!!

>Most Canadians who spouted

>off about their healthcare superiority later revealed

>themselves to be quite anti-American.

Only a total idiot would make such broad sweeping eroneous observations. What I find so revealing in all your protestations is your refusal to admit that YOU are rabidly anti-Canadian. I guess that's a trait that we Canadinas should accept from someone of such superior intellect.

>As surely as the sun rises in the East, you have to have the

>last word. So please, go ahead. I can't wait for your next

>dose of Canadian politeness.

Well, as a matter of fact I don't ALWAYS have to have the last word.

I find it amusing that some people use that taunt in an attempt to ensure that THEIR word was the last word.

But when I do reply, it is not because I want to have the last word, but because I don't intend to let your "opinions" stand uncorrected.

And while you are awaiting my "next dose of Canadian politeness" as you put it, perhaps you might consider leading with your own example. Or, do you consider you telling me, as you did in your previous post, "But please PLEASE take your anti-Americanism and shove it up your smug ungrateful Canadian a**", to be a shining example of American politeness?

One again, please PLEASE seek professional help. You obviously have issues that go far beyond anything discussed in this ever-so-polite exchange of opinions.

Over to you - here's your last chance to make sure I really did have the last word.

Do any of you guys have the web addresses for Stock and Club 20? I can't find them on google. Are they in Toronto?

Neither of those clubs are located in Toronto.

Club 20 is located in Manhattan (20 West 20th st) is a Sunday night only male strip club (rest of the week it is called Club VIP and has female strippers) I do not beleive that there is an official Club 20 web site, but there is a Yahoo group:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/club20nyc/

Stock Bar is located in Montreal (1171 rue Ste Catherine Est). Its web address is:

http://www.stockbar.ca/

Cheers,

Fisher :-)
