HELLO EVERYONE... AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS OF ALL US DANCERS MAKING VERY LITTLE $$$$ WE HAVE ALL DECIDED TO NOT SHOW UP THIS SUNDAY NITE FEBRUARY 17,2008. WE HAVE SPOKEN TO MANAGEMENT ABOUT A RATE REDUCTION DUE TO SMALL NUMBERS AT THE DOOR, SIMPLY PUT THEY LAUGHED AT US, EVEN WHEN SPOKE TO THE BOSS WHO WAS THERE LATE SUNDAY NITE PAST, HE IS COMPLETELY NOT IN TUNE WITH WHATS GOING ON! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE $$$$$$ MANY OF MY CLIENTS I SPOKE TO SAID THE CLUB IS NOT THE SAME. WE CELEBRATED A FEW SPECIAL CLIENTS B'DAYS BUT EVEN THE DRAW OF THAT & PORN STAR "GEORGE PAYNE" B'DAY COULD NOT BRING IN THE KIND OF $$$$ THAT WOULD HELP ALL MY BROTHER DANCERS. WE HAVE HEARD THAT WERE ALL BEING REPLACED BY THIS TRANNY "ALEX" WHO HANGS OUT THERE SHE WILL BE REPLACING "JOE" AND IS TO TRY AN EXPERIMENT BY BRINGING IN SUB-CALIBER PERFORMERS THAT WILL PAY HER LESS MONEY AND PAY THE BOSS OF "GREED" MORE. THIS IS TOTALLY A CRIME TO ALL OF US WHO HAVE PUT OUR BEST FOOT FOWARD FOR THIS PLACE WE HAVE ALL BEEN SCREWED!!! IF YOU WANT THIS CLUB TO RETURN TO THE WAY IT ONCE WAS WHEN GUYS LIKE "ROB" RAN IT MUST STAY AWAY FOR AT LEAST THIS SUNDAY NITE AND SHOW THEM THAT WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS "ALEX" PERSON AND OWNERS GREED....THEY WILL SEE THAT "JOE" THE GUY WHO HAS BEEN THERE SINCE THE START WHO TAKES CARE OF THE DANCERS IS VERY NEEDED AND MGR JULIO CAN REVIVE THE CLUB AS LONG AS THE OWNER LOWERS THE HOUSE FEE FOR ALL OF US GUYS.....

WE ALL BEG YOU WE WILL NOT BE THERE SUNDAY FEB 17, 2008

SO FOR THE SAKE OF US HAVING A JOB LETS ALL SHOW THEM BY HITTING THEM IN THE WALLET! AT LEAST 10 OF US WILL NOT SHOW (THEY THINK WE ARE GOING TO)

PLEASE DON'T SHOW UP!!!!! THIS SUNDAY NITE!!!!

THANKS FOR READING JULIO

While your cause may well be valid (or not) - you can get your point across just as well by not shouting! Don't use all uppercase letters)

Unless W20 on Sunday is Totally a Separate Biz from The "VIP Lounge" which I doubt...Sunday Nite to Management is just "Chump" Change!

I'm sure the VIP Lounge Ads even now on Cable, are making the Place very Profitable Mon thru Sat. So don't expect more than a "Screw You" from the Management concerning any and all come Sunday's.

Looks like there may be a few more Newbie's on Rentboy/NYC shortly, concerning the Stripper's who also know how to "Work It" OFF the Stage! ;-)

IMO, you're picking the wrong Sunday for your job action. With Monday being a holiday, it's most likely that more patrons will be showing up, spending money, and staying later. The dancers that choose to work will be making out like bandits.

Regarding your concern about a drop in attendance. Winters are traditionally slow at Clubs. Also, keep in mind that 2/3/08 was the Super Bowl and this past Sunday the temps were in the teens with a wind chill putting them below zero. Gay men don't go out in cold weather as they don't like wearing anything made out of wool. We have other uses for sheep.

You'll get no argument from me regarding your dancing fees.

House........ $60.00

Bag watcher.. $20.00

DJ............ $5.00

Good luck with your cause. I wish there were more Clubs in NYC that had male dancers, lap dances, and champagne rooms. Sadly, the 20C is the only one.

Julio,

Its doubtful you will be able to get a "posse" to not show up for the club to protest the charges and lack of customers.

I would expect that most of the experianced "good" dancers will see your proposed action to be a plus for them to make more money since your not there and they can take your customers.

Dancer Alon tryed this about a year ago and has since not been seen at the club. (maybe uncle vinny fixed the problem)

If your assumption that the "mob" is running things at the club is correct you might want to re-think your strategy.

The new he/she coming to the club might replace all the dancers and create a fresh start.

The information I have been able to get is that the new person was brought onto PROMOTE the club and bring in additional customers not replace the Manager or Joe.

He/She might have diffrent taste in dancers and could be correct that the level of the quality of dancers is not bringing customers back.

The club should also consider forcing ALL dancers to dance on stage. The club "walkers" and "waiters" doing lap dances are only taking busines away from the dancers that are forced to show up on stage and do shows.

Hope to see you sunday.

Julio's youthful activism is to be applauded and supported. This is a community that knows something about fighting injustices. OK, this is not Darfur or Stonewall, but it is a labor issue about exploitation. Maybe this job action succeeds or maybe it does not, but without change nothing changes. If writers can walk off the job, why not exotic dancers.

Make a statement to the management by finding something else to do on Sunday that is equally as bacchanalian or save some change for another day.

Who knows, if this succeeds, maybe Julio will be able to pay for those English composition classes that he desperately needs. :-)

As for me, I'll pass on C20 this Sunday.

When you see a title that begins with words like "shake up", "strike", and "quit", it catches your eye, especially when it refers to a Club you frequent.

Since "julio11" wishes to remain anonymous, I contacted a few dancers to see if they knew anything about this. No surprise here, not one of the dancers I spoke to was aware of any "strike" and all plan on working Sunday night.

I don't know if "julio11" is for real or just a disgruntled employee but he's chosen to use this m/c to vent his anger.

I plan on attending Sunday night and having an enjoyable time.

I hope this information helps.

RE: Challenging Julio's claims

In all fairness to the 20 Club, it's patrons and workers, I have contacted now numerous dancers and asked them about Julio's claim that, "WE HAVE ALL DECIDED NOT TO SHOW UP SUNDAY NIGHT". Not one dancer had heard anything about this and all plan on working this Sunday night.

I'm not sure what "julio's" reason is for using this forum to make his announcement but, as a moderator, I do not like seeing this site used to promote lies and deception.

Regardless of what you think about the 20C, it's still remains the only Club in NYC that offers male dancers, lap dances, and champagne room privates all under one roof.

My friends and I enjoy meeting up at the 20C. It's a place where we can relax and be ourselves in a very comfortable and safe enviornment. We enjoy watching the stage shows and spending time with some really hot looking dancers.

There will be several Hoovillians attending this Sunday and I hope more will decide to join us.

RE: Challenging Julio's claims

Thanks Alot Cooper...Seems like a fool like you is needed on this forum to disrupt what should happen to make sure that all the steady 20 club dancers are treated fairly. Your a real JERK to disrupt what we are trying to do. You have NO idea what a piece of S___ the owners of the club really are. However you and your BAND OF FOOLS will keep going and spending your hard earned money at this place putting your money in the hands of the FAMILY. Under regular circumstances I would say come on down and come on in...BUT in the case of what is going on your simply a fool with NO LIFE, except you live... for this HOLE IN THE WALL. SAD VERY SAD!

Ask you self a question and THINK! yes I said think...(something I sure you don't do based on your answers)

What happened to ROB & MARC ANTHONY the former 20 club MGRS>?????

ANSWER>>> THEY WERE LET GO.... WHY????? $$$$$$$$

Rob got paid $500 plus tips they fired him after he set the whole thing up to give the job to marc...he got paid $300 now the boss got $200 more in his pocket at this point the bartenders got their pay cut more $$$ in the owners pocket the fired the barback & hired GEORGE for less pay more money in the owners pockets and finally Julio the new MGR rumered gets NO PAY JUST TIPS which are split with others at least $300 more in the owners pocket. last week the casheer ANTHONY was axed WHY $$$$$$ the new wimpy guy there gets less pay too.

When are you people gonna get it?????? more and more dancers like myself are not coming back...so YEAH keep coming here and MESS UP MY STRIKE BY BUTTING YOUR NOSE WHERE IT DOESN'T BELONG...

and...I promise you this in a few weeks YOU & YOUR CHUBBY FRIEND will be our new featured dancers cause everyone else will be gone!

HAVE A GOOD TIME! Juilo (ps cooper I've been in your company MANY TIMES!) so try to figure out who I am...

"julio11"...

Since joining this forum you've made a total of 4 posts. All of which express your anger, frustration, and unhappiness in working at the 20C. Yet, you continue to work there Sunday after Sunday... Why$$$

RE: Challenging Julio's claims

I'm looking forward to spending the night with all of the regular 20 Club goers this Sunday night while I'm in town. It's always a fun night and it will be even better if the whining and bitter dancers aren't there. As a customer I go there to have a good time, not to hear about the employees' problems.

See you all on SinDay!

RE: Challenging Julio's claims

Cooper...

Can you please contact Likembig and Lucky and try to find out if they like G strings or boxers.

I think we should have the same costumes for our first night at the 20 Club.

I am happy that "Julio" has given us headliner status. I expected that was for his phili buddys.

:-)

I also hope RentDad and Johnny are there. I cant wait to give Johnny a lap dance.

RE: Challenging Julio's claims

julio11,

With that low and unclassy response, which was totally unnecessary, you probably just lost your entire regular customer base at C20, including me.

I hope you have no plans to ever return to 20C!

Your premise for the so called ¨job action¨ proves that you are no better than the greedy people at the Club you are complaining about.

I will be there on Sunday with my good friends and hope to enjoy the company of the classier dancers. I don´t go there to listen to any bitching from the dancers.

JULIO'S PLAN WENT BAD

Tonight I crossed the picket lines and walked under the blow up rat outside the 20 Club (none existed) and had one of the best nights I can recall in the past several months at the 20Club.

At about 6 PM the club had more customers than past weeks also.

There was a new DJ (dont know his name) who played his own music (not the dancers choice's) which was great. I hope he returns, he was the best DJ I have heard at the 20 Club since it opened. There were no stupid jokes, needless announcements or requests for dancers to pay the DJ made. The music was great. The only improvment the DJ needs is to speak louder when the dancers comes on stage.

As the night went on it turned out to be one of the busiest nights I have seen at the 20 Club in a very long time.

There were also several new dancers in the line up.

IMHO, I hope the improvments stay and the promotions continue.

As for "Julio11", there might be a peep shows on 42nd looking for your help.

RE: Good Night at the 20C

For the 20C the holiday weekend was a tremendous success. For most of the night the Club was packed with paying customers, over 20 dancers entertaining, and both the lap dance area and champagne rooms were very active.

The new promotion "lady" Alex and her hot looking and very friendly assistant Jeremy have been making some changes to liven up the place. They started by making some changes with that SOSO lineup. There were at least 5 new dancers which definitely made the night more interesting. Also, there is a new barwaiter, his name is Adam. He has a great personality and is a real cutie. The new coat check is Rich. He's vgl and has danced for women. He's just not comfortable dancing for me, but, I'm working on it. :-)

Another positive change that Alex and Jeremy made was to increase the cover charge for ladies only. It's now double that which men pay. Perhaps it will discourage some of the obnoxious ones.

Alex and Jeremy exhibit a lot of energy and have many wonderful new ideas. They are planning a "GRAND RE-OPENING PARTY scheduled for Sunday, March 2nd.

IMO, last night was one of the best nights at the 20C in a long time. The new dj was great and added a new mix to the sounds. I hope he stays on. Along with more patrons and new dancers, I found the night to be much more entertaining.
