I'm on the Magnum54 mailing list and have received their newsletter informing me of next Sunday's "grand opening". I also sent a personal email to the promoter and immediately received answers to all my questions. Perhaps Uncle Buff should have done the same before posting his message.

 

I knew it was a "membership club", but wasn't aware that there was no liquor being served. However, that makes sense since liquor and full nudity don't legally mix in NYC.

 

As for the dress code, there really isn't one but the words "dress to impress" were used. I have no problem with that.

 

As for costs, they're the same as other strip clubs. Lap dances $20 per song. There are some discounts in the private rooms and "happy hour" goes from 5pm to 7pm.

 

Their temporary location is easy to get to and, once it opens, I'll be able to see how it's set up. I'm looking forward to experiencing another new male strip club in NYC. As I said before, I just wish it wasn't the same night as the 20C.

Thank you, Julio, for your update - something actually needed instead of all the speculation. And BTW, I am on the mailing list.

 

You say no advertising, but Magnum54 is advertising itself in many blogs and review sites related to bars and clubs in the Gay community - even Craig's list (where everyone seems to be flagging the posts for removal).

 

I didn't lie about the location. As you confirmed, it's at HK and nothing has been said before about it being temporary. As you said, it may have been a strip venue in the 90's, but it's not one now. When the new space is finished, why will it be M4M only on the same night as the 20c and not 7 days a week? Will it be a Str8 club, too? It sounds like a huge financial investment for a once-a-week party.

 

Nothing has been said up until now about no liquor. I agree that many will not care. It's a good move.

 

Still, commercial sex clubs, private or not, were outlawed by NY many years ago during what's best described as unnecessary governmental PANIC related to the AIDS epidemic. That's at the root of why the lap dance laws changed, that's why the last 10 years of the Gaiety blessed us with those surly security guards that only allowed us to leave our tips lying on the edge of the stage. I do my homework, trust me. Have you ever researched any of the NY sex laws? There are not just City laws, but County and State laws, too.

 

I'm not attacking anyone - just concerned for these gentlemen that I've come to know and love. But you've provided no additional information about those venues in other states. What names for the events were used? Members here, once informed, will likely share their experiences if they've attended. Why did they move? Will this operation eventually close up and move on to other cities? I tried asking these questions but received no response. Better than being told I'm a jerk, I guess.

 

And as it was rumoured, you've confirmed your involvement, Julio, and as I said in my original post, I wish you best of luck in this endeavor, and please be good to these men.

Julio, Stop with all the DRAMA and get a grip. No one here has a problem with Magnum54, how could we, it hasn't even opened yet. The problem is with you and your bitter/nasty attitude towards those who post here.

 

In case you haven't noticed, this is the "Strip Club Forum" where men freely talk about, duh, strip clubs. As long as the message center rules are followed there is no censorship. So, please, stop telling us what we can and can't say.

 

I have absolutely no idea what your role is at this new club but you're doing a lot of talking about it and that's causing the controversy. If I were you, I'd wait till your "GM" gets his membership straighten out before starting any more "issues".

More Magnum Weirdness

 

This weekend a dancer from Montreal showed me an email from some "Magnum 54" promoter/talent booker who stated that recently Magnum 54 gave there club a test run and gave detailed numbers of dancers and amounts that dancers made at this trial event.

 

Now, I wonder how such an event could or would take place having so many dancers and customers attend but there is not one mention on ANY board (MER, Daddys, Muscle Service) about it.

 

Could there be a blue wall of silence at Magnum 54 or is the info fake?

I wonder why a guy who clams to work for Magnum hasnt boasted on how well the trial run went and discussed how many dancers and satisfied customers were at the trial run.

 

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a man named "mike g" who claimed to be in charge. The email was polite, well written and filled with info.

 

Julio, if you want this party to take off in NYC throw your computer in the long island sound and forget your password to this site.

 

Since your working for Magnum now what name were the other party or clubs operated under. Again as Ms Buff boy stated nothing can be found about any previous event.

I just received an email from the management of Magnum54 informing me that this Sunday's event has been "postponed". Sadly, no party this Sunday. When there is a confirmed date for opening, I'll post it. I was really looking forward to the grand opening of Magnum54. I even went to Brooks Brothers to buy my "dress to impress" party clothes.

 

The new location sounds impressive and hearing a new male strip club is opening is always great news.

What's happening?

 

Somewhat mysterious beginning!

 

It is stated, that it will be as classy as their other locations.

Does anyone know of other locations in the U.S., maybe West coast.

I don't. I assume, we are not suppose to know.

 

Things just are not clearly stated as one would expect from a high end venue. I don't wish to be critical. but would like to be more informed as to what to expect and the costs. Happy Hour must mean lower prices at the bar!

 

Such as there is a Cover, but there is also a Membership fee. which is still an unknown.

Hopefully, Magnum54 will stick to it's word of doubling the cover for women. A suggestion to those ladies planning on attending, do what other women do and watch the NYC male dancers at this club. Magnum 54 NYC is the name that was chosen for our NYC event, many people have stated that they just can't find info on Magnum. Correct you can't and won't, Why because we are a private membership club (allways underground) and cater to the elite and discrete. We are excited from the grand responce we received over the opening of Magnum and could not have expected over 200+ VIP's for the opening.
