Last w/e i went to Trixx in Providence RI. This is the second time i have attended in the last 6 months and unless they decide to change something it will be the last. On a Satturday night i arrived at midnight. There were probably 15 patrons in the entire place. Most of the dancers were hanging out in the dressing room, some were in the lounge area visiting with each other and a few mingled with guests. I watched about 9 dancers perform on stageand would only descibe one as dancing. most of the others were listless, lethargic and seemed disengaged and disinterested.

 

I went to this place a few years ago when it was XL. the place seemed much nicer then. Now it seemed pretty sad. It would be great to see something done to help this place meet it's potential.

Hi artistdelife thanks for thr review. I was just talking with some people about this place last Friday night. Im planing on a road trip soon to visit XL on a saturday night with some friends and a couple of dancers to check the place out. I noticed on there website,they been bringing in porn stars on holiday weekends,and seem to have some goodlooking guys who work there. There are no other nude male strip clubs who serve alcohol on the east cost except Swinging Richards, you think they would be able to tap into the Boston market or even the NY,CT market being its about a 3hr trip or less from the major NY market.Im still planing on a trip anyway to check the place out,il be with some of my dancers so it wont be a total waste of time.

When you mentioned that there were no other nude male strip clubs that serve alcohol on the east coast you left one out. That would be Xstatic in Springfield Mass.. They are still in business although the last time I was up there was during the winter. They have a one on one champagne room, as well as a lap dane area. The staff is friendly, and the dancers run more on the twink side.

 

As for Trixx/XL in Providence.....they have gone down hill from what they once were. They had a lot more class in the past, but with a change of owners and management things are not as good as they could be. I still hold out some hope that the current management will someday wake up and smell the coffee. I may be heading there this Friday night to see some friends. When I was there in April I had a fairly good time, so I'm hoping for the best.

I was up there about a year ago when Roman Heart the porn star was there and it was crowded. It wasn't great but OK then. There were only about 3 or 4 dancers at most that were worth seeing and one very hot bartender :9 (don't recall his name but should have) along with Roman of course (very hot) , that made the trip from NY worth it, the rest were as you said twinkish or not very interested the audience.

let us know when you are going. I would suggest the third saturday in June (21st). This is gay pride in Providence. Afternoon rally and festival followed by an evening parade. Trixxx will possibly be busy and in past years the club did bring someone with a name that evening.

I also looked at their dancer schedule and found it fascinating that in addition to listing dancers they have listed the ones who are suspended, fired, no shows, etc...

 

It is a shame that the dancers & attendance is not better. In the past when it was XL they had some lively nights. There is a great shower room and a stage that is easily accessible for tipping.

 

Tony B is correct about bartender. WHen i was there last week, the bartender was very hot and so was the waiter. In fact the waiter is the only person i saw get asked for a "private" while i was there.

 

Of course one good thing is in the same building is the megaplex bathhouse. Of the two bathhouses in New England it can sometimes et hopping in here even though it is not as nice as others in the US or Europe.
